I noticed at least a few discrepancies between this info and what Hoenstine published in his Soldiers of Blair County book, and I was looking at Hoenstine only because I didn't recognize the names of a couple of the small cemeteries. HUPERT - Bess HUPERT - Bess, 89, Patton, died March 24, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born Feb. 26, 1917, in Patton, the daughter of John and Anna (Shearon) Donahue. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daniel Hupert, on Jan. 4, 1977, whom she married May 6, 1950; brothers, Patrick, John and Edward Donahue; and sisters, Kathleen Ryan, Vern Tarr, Nell Lazor, Madeline Caretti, Ruth Pugh and Rita Donatelli. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She retired as deputy controller from Cambria County in 1988, after more than 40 years of service. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Patton Chamber of Commerce, Catholic Daughters of America, Patton Music Club and was former vice chairlady of Cambria County Democratic Committee. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. Hello Listers, Some time ago I had emailed the list asking where I could obtain the book History of Blair and Huntington Counties. I had gotten a few replies. Because of redecorating our home, I had lost the information I received. If anyone on the list could help me, I would appreciate it. I would like to buy a new copy of the book or even used. I have the every name index book I bought from the BCGS about a year ago but they do not have any copies of the History of Blair and Huntington Counties. Any help is greatly appreciated. Hi Listers, Effective next Monday, my new email will be [email protected] I am very excited and will be happy to be back to normal with the list. I have been assured JPG transfers will be no problem, and that I wouldn't have the difficulty opening files that I have with AOL. I thank all of you for your offers of help, advice, and patience. I have used the internet for 9 years, and though I have had trouble in the past with AOL, I have managed to figure out a solution. Check out the Blair page, Steve changed the font and color, he had some extra time this weekend. I had expected to give him some work I had done, but because of the AOL problem, and a death in my son-in-law's family, I was too busy to transfer files to Steve. I will try to get those done and transferred. I will be uploading the Blair Co. list of Veteran Burials to the page. Most are Civil War Veteran burials, and I believe they will be a great addition to the page. In addition I will be adding listings of various cemetery burials to the page. (I write I, but that means Steve, I send them to him and he does the work) I wish you all understood how much I appreciate this list. I have several lists, and by far, this list is the best. The understanding, patience and love that comes through is so touching. I hope I will soon be able to reciprocate your kindness with the continuation of the obits. Just as I was feeling smug and proud of myself----I can no longer connect to AOL with my new computer. It worked fine on Tuesday, and yesterday I kept getting the message no dial tone. I have worked on that most of yesterday, with the exception of the hours between 2 pm and 4 pm. I spent those crying and swearing. Les is feeling bad for me, but feels it is an AOL problem. I have contacted AOL, but they feel it is something on my end. Liars. So---I will continue to work on this off and on today, hopefully I will be able to get this fixed. I know all the AOL problems, and that I should change to something else, but until I do, I am stuck with AOL, and if anyone out there has a clue to this problem, please help me. Good news!! After two days of real effort on my part, bottles of tylenol, a wonderful product "Head on" and a husband that is such a grouch, I am now ready for obits. I have a little over 500 obits to send, so I will do that first. Probably this evening or tomorrow I will be sending out a new list of obits. I am sure I will learn how to use this computer, and be able to install the printer, scanner, etc., but for now I am just glad to be able to send obits. I want to thank all of you for your patience, and I want to apologize to those that have been disappointed with the list. I also want to thank everyone that told me about an external floppy drive, Jennie for telling me where to plug it in, and especially Les, from the computer store.
