If anyone could help I would appreciate a date of death or an obituary lookup or any information for that matter (can you tell I'm getting desperate here) for Thadeus Stewart (b: abt Apr 1839). Mr. Stewart is listed as one of the founding merchants of Bellwood in the book "150th Anniversary History of Blair County" by Larry D Smith. His wife, Ellen Alice (Bell) Stewart (b: Jul 1837) is the daughter of John Bell and Elizabeth (Boyles) Bell, founding family of Bellwood. I suspect (big assumption here) they may be buried at Logan Valley Cemetery in Bellwood. Thadeus is list in the 1910 census as residing in Bellwood Borough but not in the 1920 census. I'm assuming he died sometime after 1910 but before 1920. Ellen is listed in the 1920 census, again in Bellwood Borough, but not in the 1930 census. They had three children, Bessie, John and Margaret. Mr. Stewart is my GG Uncle and is the son of Alexander Stewart and Emiline (Robeson) Stewart. The Stewart line has been my biggest brickwall (headache). I, like a lot of researchers have been trying to research the descendants in order to go back to the individuals. I have been able to find information on John who is also listed in the above mentioned book. Bessie is listed in the 1880 census. Margaret married Harry Laird but died after 1900. I found one living descendant but have not been able to gain any additional information. Again any help/assistance/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Frank Bobak

I am wondering if anyone on the list might have more information on Rosanah Clark, age 49, who appears in the 1860 census for Tyrone Township, Blair County. I believe she would have probably resided in the Sinking Valley area. Living with her is Emmeline Clark, age 24. I suspect Emmeline is either Rosanah's daughter or daughter in law. Also living with them is George Isett, age 26, who is listed as a farm laborer. Emmeline Clark eventually married or had children with George Isett. George died during the civil war. Emmeline went on to live with/marry William Yon, and appears in the 1870 census for Allegheny Township and in the 1880 census for Logan Township, Blair Co., PA. She had children with him as well. Going back to the 1860 census, also appearing with Rosanah, Emmeline, and George are: Cerventha Clark, age 5 Millard Clark, age 4 Joseph Clark, age 6/12 George Clark, age 2 Now, George, age 2, appears in later censuses as George Isett. So, I am assuming he was the son of Emmeline and George, and the recording of his name as Clark in 1860 was a mistake. However, someone has recently suggested that Emmeline's maiden name was PRICE. So, could this mean that she was married to one of Rosanah Clark's sons who died leaving her with the small children who appear in the 1860 census? Others have suggested the young Clark children listed in 1860 were actually all Isett children. I would love to hear from anyone who is researching the Clark family who knows more about the family dynamics and relationships of Rosanah and Emmeline Clark. I would like to be able to verify how many times Emmeline married and whether her maiden name was Clark or Price. Being an Isett researcher, I am also curious to know more about any of these children who may have been Isetts. Any help or clues greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Deb

I am researching James McGee, born in New Jersey in 1781, moved at some point to Bedford Co, Pa, married a Mary?, had at least 8 children including my g grandfather Samuel, born in 1825 at Hopewell Furnace, Bedford Co., Pa, married Margaret (Margaritta) Lear. Would like some info leading back to his father (unknown), also obit or dates of death for Samuel and Margaret, and place of burial. Can't locate him on census until 1840, 1870 census is not very legible. Thanks for any help, Betty

Hello, I am researching an Adam LOOSE son of John B & Mary Kensinger LOOSE. He married a Mary born abt 1848 in PA, in the 1870 census they are in North Woodbury, Blair and have a son Samuel. In 1880 there is no sign of Adam and Samuel lives with a Silas Chamberlain and it says he is a grandson there are 2 younger Loose there also but they are listed as Silas's children, also his wife is Mary (who is the same age as Samuel's mother). Where might I find an obit from the 1870's???? or birth records from 1870-80?? I know Adam was in the cival war and he was wounded. Listers, Please note my new email--I am amazed at how fast it is, and very happy. I believe I frightened the young guy that installed the thing, he sort of backed out the door when he left, I think he thought I was going to hug him, and he was right, I was tempted. I don't believe I have been this happy since I discovered elastic waistbands.
