We were amazed to find daffodils and hyacinths and other plants around. Since no one was allowed in since 1976 due to a property owner that patrollled with shotgun (Bonnies husband was VERY lucky he got out un seen) we were amazed to find the flowers. There is now a right of way access that is on the Beecham Road side. You walk straight up the hill and around the back of the graveyard and down the front. DO not stray from that path. Do not enter from the front. There are four months a year a vehicle is allowed in for maintanance or for a person not able to walk the hill. We intially paid two guys to go in and remove all the smaller trees that they were competant to do and the brush that prevented us from getting in to work. Then we had a professional take down the trees that were over our heads. Then we had a group work session to clear the rest. THen another when we rented a shredder and paid a guy to operated it while we brought the brush and sticks to him. Someone else removed the wood and used it as firewood. We spent some time resetting leaning/fallen tombtones and raising up some sunken ones. THen in Spring we started with the Mason repairing the front wall and stiles and chipped out and repointed. While waiting for October to roll around (when a vechicle could be in) Neil went in twice and weedwhacked to keep it down. We tried to locate family members to take over the maintanance to no avail. No one was interested. So Neil agreed to adopt it and try to keep an eye on it and be like the team captain. So if anyone is interested in helping with the maintanance with Neil, even if its one or two times a year contact Neil neilain@dejazzd.com to co ordinate it. It is too big for one person to care for alone. We are now in the process of almost being done with chipping out repairing and re pointing the SECOND wall on the Beecham Road side. The organization needs contributions towards it. (501 c 3) We would like to able to do all four walls.
