    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: jhadur69 Surnames: Flying Jordans, Jordan Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.berks/428.1.1.1.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Mary (sometimes listed as Mayme) died in Galveston in 1950. She was survived by 2 daughters (as listed in her obit): Josephine (Mrs. Hankinson) and Nellie Dutton (Bausman) I believe or both of the girls were married once (at least) before. They adopted a number of Russian, Latvian children as well who used the name Jordan (like Lena, who was purported to have been the person PERSON to have performed the triple somersault, not Ernie Clark as previously thought -- there is some controversy, though, that her somersault was a "thrown" and not true somersault.) Josephine and Nellie toured after Lewis/Louis died in 1912 as the Jordan Sisters. The mother is believed by some to be the first female catcher in a trapeze act. I would love to connect with anyone with knowledge of this great family and especially to learn if some of their ancestors continue to perform (for instance, Johnny and Paul Jordan performed with The Flying Wallendas/Great Wallendas (Paul was married to K! arl's daughter Carla), but I do not know if the are any relation to any of the Jordans of "The Flying Jordans." auntie_tee@hotmail.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
