    1. [PABERKS] Naturalization papers for GREBE and ANCONA

    3. I have the following information about my great grandfather SEBASTIAN K. GREBE - 1900 Census indicates he was naturalized; the 1920 census says that the naturalization year is 1870 (although it is hard to read and maybe it is 1871 or 1878) I have the book 'Guide to Naturalization Records of the United States' by Christina K. Schaefer. That book indicates that the original records are at the Berks County Court of Common Pleas. For dates 1798-1915it lists a film number (0020505 ff.) Are these records available via the internet? Or would I or someone have to go to the Courthouse and look at the film. Are there any other sources for this information? And I am also interested in finding out if my gg grandfather MOSES (MORRIS) MONTEFIORE ANCONA ever was naturalized. He arrived to Philadelphia at some point between 1809 and 1812. Because he was a British citizen he had to move inland once the War of 1812 began. That is when he came to Berks County. He lived in or near Berks County for the rest of his life and died in 1854. I have no records of whether he ever applied for naturalization much less completed the process. Any ideas of where I might search for that information? Sara A Straub
