I have hit a brick wall with the person for whom I am looking. She is not appearing in church records, immigration records online or census records. Where can I find records of indentures of persons bound out for servants? She is probably from Germany and most likely arrived in Philadelphia. I believe her date of arrival is 1796 and she probably lived in eastern Berks or western Lehigh county. Also, are their Phila immigration records for that period of time online anywhere other that ancestry.com and familysearch.org? Any help will be greatly appreciated. > >Important Note: >The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. There are some transcripts of Strassburger and Hinke's Pennsylvania German Pioneers - parts at least - online. Not sure if there's a complete one. I have an ancestor who appears there on the list for the Catherine, 19 October 1772 and then appears in the "Record of Indentures of Individuals Bound Out as Apprentices, Servants, Etc. ... October 3, 1771 to October 5, 1773", Genealogical Publishing Company, 1973, as having been indentured for 2 years on 20 October 1772. Some luck is probably needed, as here, and I know the latter reference isn't the time frame for your ancestor, but this may give you an added clue for your search. > >Important Note: >The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
