Edward and Jane were at Goshen Monthly Meeting in Chester Co. Don't know if that spelling evolved into FAIR or not! (Frank Hoffman, this is for you! See marriages below *) In Chester Co Wills: John FAIR was appointed administrator in estate of Thomas LEWIS, Honeybrook, on 1/15/1805. He was soninlaw of Thomas, as the will was found and that abstract reads: Thomas LEWIS, Chester Co, written 12/10/1804 probated 1/15/1805. To son-in-law John FAIR, in consideration of the care he has taken of me in my illness, all my property. Signed with mark. Wits: Peter Trego and Matthias Skinner. Schwarzwald Reformed, Exeter marriages: Matthias FÄHR and Margaretha WOLFF, Rob., on 2/16/1790 John FAHR to Betsey LEWIS, Robeson, on 2/12/1797. * Jacob DROPP to Hannah FAIR, Rob., 12/19/1797 Philip DROPP and Barbara FÄHR, Rob 7/8/1800 Andreas HAUCK and Catharina FEHR 6/20/1809 *It seems that Betsey LEWIS is daughter of the Thomas LEWIS who died in Chester Co 1805. And she and John lived in Robeson Twp. So with this info, I agree with Judy, there are 2 families of John FAIR and FEHR and FAHR, maybe even FARR! Sorting them out is a challenge.
