At that time their name was most frequently spelled Herder. In 1769 the family shows up in the Frederick County, MD, church records and I have reason to believe that during the interval they just might have been in the Tulpehocken region. She is more likely the daughter of Martin because most of George and Eva's family was in southern Virginia by this time.
