This is all I have. 1. Conrad PREIS Sr. was born about 1715. He immigrated on 5 Oct 1737 to Philadelphia, PA. He died in 1799 in Ruscombmanor Township, Berks Co., PA. Arrived in America on the bilander Townshead. Conrad must have lived in Philadelphia for some time. The records the Olde Christ Church include the marriage of Conrad Price and Catharine Barstler. He is later recorded as being naturalized in Berks County on 10 April 1753. Conrad appeared on various Berks County tax lists with as much as 270 acres of land in Ruscombmanor Township. On 18 August 1773 Conrad Preis and his wife, Catharine, of Ruscombmanor Township, sold 101 acres of land, which he had bought from Adam Spittlemeyer on 18 January 1760, to his son-in-law, Martin Gaube. On 24 January 1767, Conrad purchased from Nicholas Eli, 111 acres, which he sold to son David. Elder Conrad Price was one of the first members of the Dunkards, also known as "The Brethen", and sometimes called "German Baptists" who settled in Oley, PA. Named Elders were the first preachers. Conrad laid out Pricetown, a village in Ruscombmanor Township about 1774. It contained 25 houses, one store, and 2 taverns with a population of 165. [From Rupp's 1844 "History of Berks and Lebanon Counties]. Conrad served in Berks County Militia during the Revolutionary War in the 1st Battalion, 6th Co. under Captain Wanner. He was a private, 5th Class. Conrad PREIS Sr. and Catharine BARSTLER were married on 31 Mar 1743 in Philadelphia, PA. Catharine BARSTLER was born about 1720. She died after 1799. Conrad PREIS Sr. and Catharine BARSTLER had the following children: +2 Susanna PREIS, born about 1744, Pennsylvania; married Martin GAUBE. 3 David PREIS was born in 1746 in Pennsylvania. He died on 28 Mar 1821. Married an Elizabeth. Was in Richmond Township for 1790 Census. 4 Jacob PREIS was born about 1748 in Pennsylvania. Married a Catharine. Catharine died in 1806. David received land from father in February 1795. 5 Catharine PREIS was born on 19 Feb 1750 in Pennsylvania. She died on 23 Jun 1829. Married Christian Martin. He was 18 June 1752, in Ruscombmanor Township to 21 January 1842. The family was later living in Pinegrove/Wayne Township, an area of what became Schuylkill County, PA. +6 Maria PREIS, born about 1751, Pennsylvania; married Jacob BREYFOGEL. 7 Daniel PREIS was born about 1753 in Ruscombmanor Township, Berks Co., PA. He died after 1811. Received land from father in Lower Sacony Township, Northampton County, PA in April 1795. +8 Conrad PREIS Jr., born about 1756, Ruscombmanor Township, Berks Co., PA; married Esther HOCH, on 11 Feb 1783; died in 1822. 9 viii. Mary Margaret PREIS was born about 1757 in Ruscombmanor Township, Berks Co., PA. Married Samuel Rothrock. 10 Abraham PREIS was born about 1758 in Ruscombmanor Township, Berks Co., PA. He died in Sep 1793. Married a Magdalena. Received land from father in December 1794. Will was recorded 5 October 1793. +11 Johannes PREIS, born about 1760, Ruscombmanor Township, Berks Co., PA; married Catharine HUFNAGEL, on 3 Sep 1782. 12 Esther PREIS was born about 1762 in Ruscombmanor Township, Berks Co., PA. She died after 1811. Married Johannes Rothrock on 13 May 1792. +13 Isaac PREIS, born on 20 Mar 1765, Ruscombmanor Township, Berks Co., PA; married Maria ROTHROCK; died on 25 Mar 1855. 14 Magdalena PREIS was born on 1 Jan 1777 in Ruscombmanor Township, Berks Co., PA. She died on 9 Jul 1849 in Richmond Township, Berks Co., PA. Married Jacob Rothermel. She was noted in Conrad's will as the last born of 13 children.
