I am a direct descendent from Frederick. I have learned recently that Frederick was married first to Eva Mertz b. Abt 1742 in PA, d/o Nicholas Mertz. Frederick was married second to Anna Louisa Strauch Foust, widow of Adam Foust who died at Valley Forge in 1778. I am trying to determine which woman was the mother of Elizabeth Braun and Susanna Braun daughters of Frederick. Louisa was the mother of Frederick, jr. born 1783 and Benjamin born 1787. She would have been a bit too old to have any further children, having had quite a brood with Adam before marrying Frederick--who, by the way, was the father of her son, Adam's (1760) wife, Catherine. Catherine, John, Peter and Michael all appear to be children of Eva Mertz and Frederick--born before Adam Foust died. I do not have any reliable dobs for Susanna! or Elizabeth or spouses. It is reported in histories that one of Catherine Braun's sisters married her husband's brother--that would be Susanna as she is mentioned in connection with Johannes Faust, brother to Adam. Elizabeth, I believe was married to Jacob Niederauer (family became Nedrow). Michael Braun born about 1772 in linked with another Michael Braun of about the same age from a different family, in fact he is listed usually as a son of Michale and Christina with a wife Catherine Scherry. Another links him to a Hanna Knorr, but I can prove neither. If anyone has anything definitive or any bits and pieces on this family, please respond..Sue Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
