jacob b. metzger, of bethlehem twp. northampton co., he was born in easton, sept. 17, 1846, s/o joseph and sallie (bauer) metzger. the paternal grandfather, christian metzger a native of germany, and was the father of 7. joseph metzger, father jacob d., is one of four children, the others, john q., joseph f., and emma e., wf of william campbell. in bethlehem, oct. 12, 1867 he (jacob d.) married mary c. engler and they had children, george f. and herbert j. and one died ott, william h. of portland, pa., was born dec 23, 1862, s/o theodore and susan ott, natives of northampton co. they were of german-french descent, their ancestors having emigrated from the old country. peter ott, grandfather of william h., was a native of berks co and he moved to northampton co. (upper mt. bethel) theodore ott, father william h., on oct. 18, 1893 he married clara weidman, d/o daniel. ott, charles h. (m.d.) was born at mauch chunk, aug 2, 186, s/o henry d., and sarah (kemmerer) ott. on april 13, 1886 dr. ott married eliza, d/o gabriel gutman, of easton. children, mariam e., charles, and dorothy who died. ott (utt) 19 aug 1814, estate of jacob utt, mt. bethel twp. 27 nov 27, guardian for minor dau. of john metzgar, lower smithfield, child, barbara, over 14, guardian, joseph feller 19 sept 1787, guardian for minor children of henry ott, upper milford twp. children; susanna and eve. estate of henry ott, died about 2 years ago, upper milford twp. widow_ children; christoper, e.s., michael, henry, george, jacob, elisabeth, w/o nicholas samsel, mary, w/o john olinger, catharine, w/o george worman, margaret, w/o michael rudolph, eve 8 sept 1794, estate of jacob schieffer, died last aug. upper milford twp. no widow, children; george, e.s., jacob, 2nd son, eve, w/o henry hertzel, jeremiah, adam, andreas, george, henry, catharine w/o jacob metzger, john. and it goes on and on and on, forever i think.
