I am looking for any information on Rheuvalen (aka: Valentine) Leiss, b: 1858. He is the son of Adam Leiss & Elizabeth (Gassert) Leiss-Reed-Ehrenfelt. Elizabeth was the daughter of Michael & Margaret (Reed) Gassert. Margaret is the daughter of Christian & Maria Elizabeth (Trautmann) Reed. Elizabeth had Rheuvallen with Adam Leiss (do not know his parents, can anyone help?). The 1870 Census shows Elizabeth married to Daniel Arenfelt (s/b Ehrnfeldt) with the following in the household: Daniel - age 42 Elizabeth - age 35 Daniel Arenfelt - age 4 Amanda Reed - age 8 R. Adam Leiss - age 12 There is no record of marriage for Elizabeth to either Adam Leiss or (Husband, possibly Alexander) Reed. so it is possible that both Amanda and Rheuvalen were born out of wedlock and both father's lives were cut short at an early age. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Also what happened to Amanda? She is in the 1880 Census as a servant with the Issac Hoffa family.
