Your first message mentioned Jeremiah Boyer in the 1850 and 1860 census and yet he died in 1840. Do you have two Jeremiah Boyers? Your first message: Does anyone know the maiden name of the wife of Jeremiah Boyer? In the 1850 census she was Eleanora -- in 1860 Ellen. She was born about 1808. I know the following is not likely your Jeremiah Boyer, but I thought I'd include it here just to show there were probably many Jeremiah Boyers. This one was born in Oley, Berks County about 1820 and died in Pottstown, Montgomery in 1904. County. Pottstown Daily News, Pottstown, PA Friday, February 26, 1904 Jeremiah H. Boyer, an aged resident of Pottstown, died yesterday at the residence of his son-in-law, William H. Stetler, No. 449 High Street after several weeks' illness, from a stroke of paralysis. He was aged 84 years 2 months and 5 days. He was born in Oley township, Berks County, and from his youth up was widely known as a violinist of no samll worth. It was a great delight to him even in later years to take up his favorite fiddle and play some of the old familiar dance airs, such as "Davil's Dream," "Arkansas Traveler," "Money Musk," etc. He had probably played for more country dances than any violinist in this section of the country. He leaves the following daughters and sons: Mary, wife of William Stetler, this town; Sallie wife of Joseph Ryan, Stowe; Malinda, wife of Frank Ludwig, this town; Susan wife of Peter Reitghonuer[sic], Engelsville; John, Lebanon; Abraham, Pughtown; James, Parkesburg. One brother, Andrew Boyer, of this town survives. His wife died many years ago. Deceased was a member of Graham Post, No. 106, G. A. R., and served for some time in the great Civil War. He was not wounded, although he took an active part. Pottstown Daily News, Pottstown, PA Tuesday, March 1, 1904 Funeral of Jeremiah H.
