bucks co. history twining, stephen b. was born in dolington, upper makefield twp., jan. 19, 1844 and was the oldest son of charles and elisabeth (west) twininng. the pioneer ancestor of the twining family was william, who came from england to MA. about 1643, settled in yarmouth, ma. moved to eastham, ma, where he died 1659. he married anne doane, who died feb. 27, 1680. children; william jr., and isabel who married francis baker. william twining jr., married elisabeth deane, d/o stephen deane, of plymouth, in 1652 and had the following children; william born feb. 28, 1654, married ruth cole, eliza married john rogers of eastham, anne and johanna both were the wives of thomas bill, stephen, susanna, died young, mehitabel married daniel doane and settled in bucks co., pa., william, moved to bucks co., where he died nov. 4, 1703, his wife died dec. 28, 1708.
