    3. Chris, look for an intestate (no will) proceeding, inventory, or orphan's court record. Also, check the deeds, they sometimes tell the story. 3. My records are as follows. The Grim Ancestry book, page 128 lists him, but does not give a birth date. It says that he married Esther Kershner (21 dec 1783 to 26 oct 1857) and lists 6 children. The Blair typescript, page 166 says that he first married Elizabeth Landis, born 10 Apr 1773 and died 30 apr 1801 and had 2 hildren by her. He second married Esther Kerschner and had 5 children by her. Esther married George Sticher after George Shartle's death. George Sticher was born 3 Oct 1781, and died 21 Feb 1859. I think the Blair typescript is to be trusted. Further, the Blair Typescript says that George Schertel is believed to be buried behind the church at Womelsdorf in Heidelberg twp. Other sources say St Michaels church. George Built the first brick residence in Shartlesville, which was later owned by Senator Benjamin Nunemacher. He and wife Esther lived on his farm in Heidelberg Twp, between Womelsdorf and Robesonia. That's all I have on George.
