riegel, martin j. of easton. the riegel family is one of the oldest in northampton co. his paternal great-grandfather benjamin riegel of lower saucon twp. he was in the war of 1812, killed near hellertown on his way home from the war. the founder of the family settled in bucks co. grandfather, mathias riegel, was born in lower saucon twp. member of the ref. ch. he died at the age of 69. he married mary kram. children; john, benjamin, jacob, george, daniel, joseph, samuel, elisabeth, wf of isaac boyer, catharine, wf of george weber, mary, wf of joseph roth, and rebecca, wf of israel rothrock. the birth of m.j. riegel was dec. 11, 1835, at hellertown, northampton co. on nov 11, 1861 he married anna l. d/o late owen w. hess of easton. children; henry m..
