Hello, I am new to the list and have been researching Jacob Liebengut and wife Margaret Sands. They died in April 1758 by the indians, they were scalped. I have seen they are buried in the Christ Evangilical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Strouseburg, I was wondering if anyone could get a photo of their stones. Jacob's I guess is unique, it has a tomahawk on it, to signify the indian massacre. I would gladly pay for anyone to do this, and if you come across any other Liebengut's in the same cemetery, I would appreciate any photos of them as well. Sending them via email is fine with me. jamie
Are there records available for this cemetery? I am trying to find the possible burials of Christina Reitenauer, between 1764-1775 Catherine Reitenauer, between 1776 - 1779 and an infant named Johan George 1779. ----- Original Message ----- From: <senorasimcox@aol.com> To: <PABERKS@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, April 19, 2008 8:51 PM Subject: [PABERKS] Can anyone get a couple of tombstone photos for me? > Hello, > > I am new to the list and have been researching Jacob Liebengut and wife > Margaret Sands. I will be glad to take photos of your Jacob Liebengut stone. I helped to record The Christ Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Stouchsburg and do not recall a tomahawk on the stone. Neither do I have record of a stone for wife Margaret. There is a Levengood cemetery near Mt. Aetna where the massacre took place. I will look up the information later on. Will be out of town for a few days.
