I know a little about the other Benjamin. He was born about 1808 to a James & Mary, who lived in Chester Co, just over the county border. The absence of Benjamin inthe Kunen family in 1860 would account for him being in Lancaster at the time. And the way he spelled his name or the censutaker did, made it look similar to Benjamin Sr's. (Kenon vs Kunen). I'm complelled to believe that's the family he belongs with, both bcause of the names in family, his place in it, and his age in the censuses. I'll write those two census listings down and keep them or reference. Perhaps Benjamin's father never died and that he was simply snt here (Lancaster) to learn a trade. Like I said, there's a Benjamin Kenon found in Salisbury Twp, Lancaster Co in 1860. Blacksmith, living with James Hoas, also a blacksmith. So if he is the other Benjamin's son, and he's absent from the family in 1860, this would be why. But why Lancaster, I don't kn! ow, maybe it was the most industial place at the time nearest to Reading. I don't know. But thanks for the two lookups, Betty. I relly appreciate it. You got me thinking now. :-) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
