I don't know how Benjamin would have known his mother and not his faher, unles he didn't really care to remember his father at all. Because the certificate gives only his other's name, not his father's. My Benjamin's son-in-law, Amos Ayers, was the informant. I guess Benjamin brought up his parents at some point and Amos only seemed to remember her, I don't know. But to call you a god send for all the info you've supplied me with would be an understatement. Without it, I wouldn't be thinking twice abut Benjamin and Mary being his parents. Would the library do one or two look ups for free? I live in Lancaster, just outside the eastern border of the city. And I don't have a way to get there.
