Terri, I did not find any baptisms for David, Lydia, Jacob, MaryAnn, Anna,or Thomas. However I did find a baptism for a Catharina (d/o Jacob Hess and Maria), b. 4 April 1836 bp. 22 May 1836 sp. David Haas and Susan. I found Jacob Hess (s/o Jacob Hess and Gertraut), b. 6 Oct 1805 bp. 17 Nov 1805 sp Daniel Gilbert and Sabina. Also the following children of Jacob and Gertraut Hess: Elisabeth b. 9 Jun 1801 bp 26 Jul 1801 sp. Heinrich Hess and Elisabeth Daniel b. 20 Jan 1804 bp. 8 Apr 1804 sp. Nicolaus Schafer and Maria Elisabeth Elisabeth b. 25 Oct 1806 bp 9 Aug 1807 sp Heinrich Hess and Elisabeth Heinrich b. 30 Oct 1815 bp 10 Dec 1815 sp Stophel Frey and Hanna Hope this helps. First let me ask you if their are Hess' in your book? As their indeed should be. My family of children would have been christened between 1824 & 1838 in Berks before they moved to Cumberland County. David b. 1825 Lydia b. 1827 Jacob b. 1828 MaryAnn b. 1830 (May 6, 1830 she is my ggg grandmother) Anna Eliza b. 1832 Thomas b. 1835-36 The father was Jacob Hess born in 1805/6 to Jacob Hess and Gertrude Schaeffer Hess. We know the mother's name was Mary but we do not yet know Mary who. We have a lead that it "could" be Mary Babb however, that isn't producing much for us quite yet. **************Create a Home Theater Like the Pros. Watch the video on AOL Home.
