Anna Maria SHENEMAN was dau of Benjamin SHENEMAN and Anna Maria REISS/RICE, of Vincent. I knew that Anna Maria was married to James KEENAN. I had that James died bef 1840. Am gad to see your date of 1837. I did not know they had a son named Benjamin, but that stands to reason they did, and named him after her father! Am glad to know her death date and buried at St Mary's Episcoal. There is a volunteer in Chester county who will photo tombstones at St Mary's. Dan Lindley. I will write him to see if he can find them at St Mary's. He had already submitted quite a few photos from that cemetery. When her mother, Anna Maria REISS SHENEMAN, died, James received money from her estate for Anna Maria. I have a copy of the estate file: "Adm of estate of Anna Maria Sheneman, late of West Vincent Township, by Zacharias aka Reese/Rees Sheneman, Henry Mosteller, and James L Neiler on 11/14/1834 when bond was posted for $500. Inventory and appraisal by Michael King and Jesse Jones 11/8/1834. Her estate was valued at $301.76 3/4. Son Rees Sheneman submitted accounting on 12/30/1835: The following was paid: Henry Mosteller was reimbursed $30 for funeral expenses that he paid. Coffin was $8 Digging grave $2.25 after other misc expenses 'each' of the 11 children received $15.88 as follows: Peter Snyder (m dau Elizabeth) James Keenan (m dau Anna Maria) Sarah Sturgis (had married Rees Sturgis) Henry Mosteller (m dau Margaret) Benjamin Sheneman - son John Sheneman - son Henry Sheneman - son Jacob Sheneman - son Joseph Sheneman - son Peter Sheneman - son Rees/Zacharias Sheneman - son The final accounting was examined and confirmed by the court on 3/15/1835. Anna Maria and Benjamin SHENEMAN are buried at St Peters on Cover Mill Rd in W Pikeland. Here is Census that I had found for these KEENANs: 1830 Census, W Nantmeal, Chester Co PA James 0-1-1-2-2-0-0-1 ||3-1-0-0-1-0-1 father is age 50-60, mother is 40-50. 1840 Census, W Nantmeal, Chester Co Mary Keenan, 2 sons 20-30, 2 daus 10-15, 2 daus 15-20, 1 female 50-60. 1850 Census, West Nantmeal, Chester Co PA, image 38 on Ancestry.com: Mary Keenan, age 63, PA Jos Keenan, age 29 millwright, PA Maria, age 24, PA Phebe, age 22, PA Johnson, age 8, PA, attended school within the year Isaac Guest, age 17 farmer, PA 1860 Census, W Nantmeal, Chester Co PA, image 22 on Ancestry.com Joseph Keenan, age 36, farmer, born PA, $5000, $7200? Mary Keenan, age 76, born PA (widowed mother) Maria Keenan, age 26, PA Jesse Keenan, age 7, PA 1870 Census W Nantmeal, Chester Co PA, image 9 on Ancestry Joseph Keenan, age 52, farmer, $6000, $1000, PA Mary Keenan, age 84, keeping house, PA Maria, age 48, at home, PA Emma Berrie, age 15, at school, PA I would look for a death notice for Mary in Chester Co. at the Hist Soc. at their newspaper clipping file in 1871. W Nantmeal and St Mary's is around Rt 23 which goes to Morgantown, below Reading. There are Episcopal churches in Morgantown too - Bangor is one of the oldest. Rev. Levi Bull served at both St Mary's and Bangor for a time. You may want to contact Tri-County Heritage society also. Looks like your roadblock is tumbling down! I have ties to another branch of SHENEMANs and have been trying to research all 11 of Benjamin's children! >From the 1830 Census, it looks like James had quite a few children!
