Keenan b. Sept. 17, 1922 d. April 14, 2006 in Reading. The Berks County marriage license application had the maiden name of Helen wrong. Her obituary states it is Mann not Mauer. Below is a transcript of her obituary. I searched for an obituary for James W., however the on line archives seems to be missing the Sept. 26, 1986 issue. The surrounding issues did not include a classified death ad, nor any funeral notice, or follow up article on a funeral. Reading Eagle, Reading, PA Wednesday, October 9, 1996 Helen I. Keenan, 89, of 210 Douglass St., died Monday at 9"45 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient since Sunday morning. Her husband, James W. Keenan, died Sept. 26, 1986. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late David K. and Anna (Hildebrand) Mann. A member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading, Keenan was a past president of the Lutheran Church Women, and a Sunday school teacher for 50 years. Surviving is a daughter Joan K., wife of Harry A. Werner, Reading. Other survivors include a sister, Ruth, widow of John Schaeffer, Tampa, FL; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia K. Seidel. Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in St. Luke's Lutheran Church Chapel. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township.
