Our local libary does not charge a membership fee (as the taxes from our township support the library). . the only ones who have to pay any type of fee are those who live outside the township. There is NO charge to use Heritage Quest. If you can locate a library that subscribes to Heritage Quest, then you CAN access the HQ files from your home at no charge. All you have to pay is the actual library's membership fees. . Heritage Quest can only be accessed through local libraries, but it is a wonderful source of information. Sounds like a really great thing. My local library doesn't have it or ancestry but they are small and I didn't expect them to. I called libraries in neighboring cities. They don't, either (but at least they know what Ancestry.Com is). Is there a way to get a membership and access their databases from home? I googled HeritageQuest and got a site that clearly states you cannot access their files from home. You get membership to their library.
