Were the female "inmates" of this house - who were assigned tasks in laundries, gardens, kitchen or serving - young women who were unmarried but pregnant, young women with mental or physical disabilities, orphans? Do any records exist of inmates beside a list I found in the 1910 census? I am trying to track a young woman, Mary A. Nauens (should be Neuens), who was resident there. Thanks for any help.
