There was a Charles Oswald, age 12 in the Jacob Schwin household of Maxatawny Twp., Berks County and a Jonathan Oswald, 21, in the household of Jacob and Judith Oswald in Longswamp Twp., Berks County. 1880 Rockland Twp., Berks Co., Roll 1100 p. 266B ED 64 Mary Oswald, 50 Catharine, 26, daughter Charles Oswald, 22, son Peter Oswald, 19, son Based on the above census records it would appear that 10 children of Peter and Mary Oswald of Rockland Township, Berks County might be: Alfred, Thomas J., Jacob, Sara, Jonathan, Catharina, Henry, Charles, Peter and Ellen. The census also suggests that Peter Oswald, husband of Mary died between 1860 and 1870, sometime after or around the time Ellen Oswald was born in approximately 1864. Narrowing the death date to between 1863 and 1870. I see no child Zacharias and the name Phebe for a wife appears in the previous posting I made regarding the Peter Oswald buried at Aulenbach Cemetery, which is not likely the correct Peter Oswald. While it's not an exact indication, I took a look at the Berks County Historical Cemeteries Index for any other Oswalds identified, on the same page as the two Peter Oswalds, (St. Paul's of Mertztown and Delongs). Delongs Cemetery Peter Oswald on page 10, no other Oswalds listed on page 10 St. Paul's Cemetery Mertztown Peter Oswald, Bessie Oswald, Charles W. Oswald and Sarah A. Oswald all on page 24 I also looked for the children of Peter and Mary Oswald in the Berks Cemeteries index and found none of them. That doesn't mean they aren't there, only they weren't there when the headstone readings were done or records made. Find-A-Grave Oswald burials in Berks County turned up none of these Oswalds.
