I have been trying to locate microfilms/original copies of newspapers for the Reading area, and specifically Sinking Spring for the 1840's. My GG Grandmother, Elizabeth BLANKENBILLER married Unknown ZIEGLER before October of 1845. Their son Martin ZIEGLER was born October 24, 1845. Unknown ZIEGLER died before July 21, 1848. Elizabeth BLANKENBILLER ZIEGLER remarried Dietrich HEIDMAN sometime before this date, when a daughter, Susannah was born to them. Elizabeth and Dietrich are buried in the Salem United Brethren (Weidman's) Cemetery in Sinking Spring; also Susannah, who married David LESHER. They all may have attended that church, although I have not been able to locate the records. The Historical Society of Berks County says it does not have any newspapers that cover this time period, and I am not sure where to look for the church records either, if they even exist. No help with LDS microfilms either. Can anyone help here?
