I have been able to locate info using Google Archives -- you can qualify what dates you would like to search - also can specify possible newspaper(s) in your search details. I have been able to find newspaper clippings / death & marriage notifications using this option. Also it is not limited to Pennsylvania info -- have found pictures of my husband's family located in the Los Angeles area Maureen in Modesto ________________________________ From: Walter Blenderman <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Thu, September 16, 2010 6:46:40 AM Subject: [PABERKS] Another Newspaper/Church Problem I have been trying to locate microfilms/original copies of newspapers for the Reading area, and specifically Sinking Spring for the 1840's. My GG Grandmother, Elizabeth BLANKENBILLER married Unknown ZIEGLER before October of 1845. Their son Martin ZIEGLER was born October 24, 1845. Unknown ZIEGLER died before July 21, 1848. Elizabeth BLANKENBILLER ZIEGLER remarried Dietrich HEIDMAN sometime before this date, when a daughter, Susannah was born to them. Elizabeth and Dietrich are buried in the Salem United Brethren (Weidman's) Cemetery in Sinking Spring; also Susannah, who married David LESHER. They all may have attended that church, although I have not been able to locate the records. The Historical Society of Berks County says it does not have any newspapers that cover this time period, and I am not sure where to look for the church records either, if they even exist. No help with LDS microfilms either. Can anyone help here?
