She also used it as a summer home. (It is now the YMCA Camp.) It was focused on the needs of unmarried professional women who faced limited options during that era. She purchased it from Dr. Octavia Krum of Pottstown who had run it as a sanatorium through 1920. Mary Morton had advanced views for her time and an extensive fortune to put them into play. You can get copies of the estate file which might be revealing. Bynden Wood seems to have been a place for social gatherings and bridge clubs.
