Styer, 94, Ephrata, entered into rest in Adamstown on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010.Born in Allegheny-ville, he was a son of the late Heber and Celia (Frees) Styer.He was the husband of Arlene M. (Mountz) Styer. They were married 67 years this past Aug. 14.He was a member of Peace UCC and a lifetime member of the Adamstown VFW. He enjoyed gardening, deer hunting and spending time with his family.John started at Bollman's Hat Co., before joining the Army and entering World War II. He then worked 25 years at Harding Bakery in Bowmansville and retired from Good's Chips.In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carole A., wife of Ralph W. Good, Adamstown, and Fay A., wife of David Frederick, Cleveland, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his son, Robert D.; his brother, James; and his sister, Mae Hoshower.A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, at the Peace United Church of Christ, 37 E. Swartzville Road, Denver, Pa., followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. with Pastor William Hoch officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowmansville Union Cemetery, Brecknock Township.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's memory may be sent to Peace United Church of Christ, 37 E.
