Re: Lykens/Fries ([1][email protected]): is this Peter Freeman a son of George & Elizabeth Freeman ? Peter Foreman (or Fuhrman) was the son of Elizabeth Foreman, who died intestate in 1847. She is presumably the widow of Henry Foreman (1786-1830) who is buried in St. John's Churchyard, Gibraltar. Documents in Elizabeth's intestate file prove that her son Peter, who married Sarah Likens, the daughter of William Likens & his wife Rebecca Wicklein, moved to Bethel tp., Lebanon County. An old-new question (I think I pose it once per year): Does anyone know the maiden name of this Elizabeth Foreman? Or does anyone have any church records involved Henry Foreman & his wife Elizabeth? Their children would have been baptized circa 1805-1820, a time period for which I don't have access to church records. I've always hoped that a church record might give some clue as to Elizabeth's parentage. References 1. mailto:[email protected]
Elizabeth Freeman, w/o George Freeman and m/o Peter, was the d/o George and Maria Gerhart of Cumru Twp., Berks Co. She was born in Germany and died in 1862 at the Centre Twp. home of her son John Freeman. My guess would be that the Peter Foreman/Fuhrman in question is not her son. Peter Freeman died in 1857, before his mother, and left a widow, Sarah (Feinhauer). I have seen the Fuhrman/Foreman name on census records for the same area of Cumru Twp., specifically the Freemansville area. I haven't connected them to the Freeman line even though I have found the Freeman surname spelled Fuhrman on occasion.
