    3. The Reading Eagle archives are on Google. You must do a search of Google Books, and when you find the paper you are looking for, go to the date of interested, and then search the paper day by day page by page, until you find the information you need. I wish I could tell you to use the Google search but for the old newspapers it does not and has never worked. Reading Eagle Newspapers can be found at: http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=ZuSUVyMx-TgC I believe that the Reading Eagle is available for about 1868 into the 1900's. PS: in your search if you ever find an obituary for a Mary (Maria) Barlet born in 1795 and married to a Joseph (Joshua) Barlet please contact me. She is found in the 1870 census in the 6th Ward Rickstown of Reading. Her death date is after 1873. the exact date is unknown. 3. Bob, This was a project of Google to digitize newspapers from around the country. Unfortunately, Google stopped the project about 2 years age. There are records from numerous newspapers from around the country on the Google site; some freely accessable and others available with a fee. Good luck in your search for your history. 3. I descend from John's sister, Susanna. Susanna was born in 1739 and was the wife of Michael Christ. The father of John and Susanna was Johannes Bishop Sr. He married Maria Barbara and he died ca 1753. Maria Barbara then married Ulrich Huy or Huey. I don't know the surname of John Jr's first wife, Elisabeth. I'm not even sure if sons John and Jacob were to his first wife or to his second. I have Sarah listed as a daughter of Elisabeth. She married first a Smith, then Matthias Gernant/ She was in Hardy Co, VA in 1812. Children to Susanna Keim were Catharine m. Francis Groff/Grove, Elisabeth m. George Boyer, Susanna m. 1st a Stanford then Jacob Henry Kerchoff, George, Mary m. Samuel D. Close, and Johann Daniel. Johannes Sr had (in addition to John Jr and Susanna) Adam, George living 1825 in VA, Mary m. John Groushore and Elizabeth. Would love to know more about this family myself. I am doing research on various ancestors who lived in Berks Co., PA.In our family, the Hagenbuch & Stapleton lines from Berks Co. appear to intersect. One particularly confusing piece re: Anna Barbara Hagenbuch. (b.1715? 1728? , d.1740? later...???) (child of Andreas Hagenbuch? [ - b. 1711 Germany, d. 1785 Berks], sibling of Henry Hagenbuch?, U.S. arrival 1737?)Married to Tobias Stapleton. (b. 1715 Berks Co., d. 1805, Berks Co.) The dates don't compute if ---she died in 1740 & Robt.Stapleton is her son.(born 1742) if ---she was born in 1715 & Andreas Hagenbuch (b. 1711) is her father if --- she was born 1728, died in 1740 & married Tobias (1741). Our lines are - Michael Hagenbuch (b. 1805 Berks) [husb. of Abigail; below] son of Jacob Hagenbuch(b.1777 Berks) son of Michael Hagenbuch (b.1746 Berks) son of Andreas Hagenbuch (b.1711 Germany, d. 1785 Berks).Abigail Stapleton (b. 1811 Berks) [wife of Michael Hagenbuch b.1805, above] daughter of Robt. Stapleton (b. 1742 Berks) son of Tobias Stapleton (b. 1715 Berks) son of Robert Stapleton (b. 1690 England). Any information to answer the questions re: Anna Barb.Hagenbuch or to further elucidate any of the above people or connections would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. K.
