    3. schuylkill co. auman, samuel, of pottsville, s/o henry and catharine (breyman) auman, and was born in amity, berks co., nov. 14, 1824. his grandfather on the paternal side was henry auman, sr. he was born in hanover, germany and came to the u.s. as a hessian mercenary during the rev. he was one of those who were suprised by gen. washington and taken prisoner prior to the battle of trenton. at the conclusion of the war he refused to return to his native country, and settled in amityville, amity twp., berks co. he was a member of the german lutheran ch. in amityville, for a number of years, in which he was choirmaster. he died in 1839, age 83. his wife's maiden name was catharine beitman, a resident of carlisle. they had children; elizabeth, catharine, sarah, george and henry. henry, father of samuel, was born in berks co., in 1795, moved to union co. in 1842, he came to pottsville in 1848. he died feb. 1874. he was the father of 11 children; albert, levi, william, henry, james, samuel, mary, amelia, sarah, catharine, and elizabeth. samuel auman married 1st to sarah umbenhauer, of pottsville, april 6, 1849. children; sallie e., emma l., ellen w. wife of winfield robinson, of wilkes-barre. his wife died feb. 13, 1860, age 29. he married 2nd to mrs. elisabeth hollenbeck, widow of eben hollenbeck, of memphis, tn., aug. 6. 1861, they had 2 children; william, who married ona flack, of wilkes-barre, and one who died in infancy. mrs. auman, his 2nd wf., is a dau. of jedediah irish, native of luzerne co..(now bradford co), born april 8, 1797. mr. irish left his native county about 1820 and moved to mauch chunk, carbon co. he successively lived at rockport, mauch chunck, mifflin, hazelton, tuscrora and pottsville. he died in luzerne co., jan 8, 1871. children; theodore, of ga. and elizabeth, now mrs. auman, she was born nov.17,1825, she married eben hollenbeck, june 23, 1852, he died nov. 12, 1858. she became the mother of 2 children, jedediah, jr, married to margaret hanum, of hazelton, and gay. They were in Longswamp so I think Eve is a good candidate to be Frederick (1739) Braun's wife. Eve's dob is given as abt 1736. If we had firm dob and dod for Louisa Strauch Foust Braun and also for Frederick's children, Michael, Elizabeth and Susanna (I have not been able to reconcile those given previously along with their respective spouses, having found dates not jiving and other ancestors for those with similiar names--esp Michael), I think we could determine which children were Eve's and which Louisa's and which (like Benjamin 1787) may have been from a third wife.     3. Can anyone confirm Andrew Strickler Jr. married Catherine Graf abt 1761 at Tulpehocken Stouchsburg church? I can not find an available copy of Frederick S. Weiser "Records of Pastoral Acts at Christ Lutheran Church Stouchsburg, Berks County, Pa. I am hoping to find the marriage record of George Reitenauer and his wife Catherine. George Reitenauer and wife Catherine had a daughter Catherine Margaret Reitenauer born December 5, 1776, baptized December 25, 1776 sponsors were Andrew Strickler and wife Catherine at Lebanon County, Pa Millbach Reformed Congregation church records (back then it was Lancaster County ) In 1775, George Rightanour was listed on military rolls of the Heidelberg Company under Captain George Hudson. George Reidenauer and Andrew Strickler (Jr.) took the Oath of Allegiance with to the state of Pennsylvania before Henry Sheafer on August 4, 1777. I am trying to find out if Andrew Strickler Jr. wife and George Reitenauer's wife were related. Thanks, Kimberly Williams
