Hi Barbara, I don't have a direct answer to your question, but I can point you to a possible resource. Try going to Google Books and search for the churches you are looking for. Google is scanning full text of many out of copyright books. I have found some quite astonishing information there, and it is free! For examples, there are proceedings of Schuylkill and Lehigh historical societies and other materials with church histories. Good luck! Dear List, I'm taking up again an old search after letting it lie for quite a long time. Can anyone tell me who the pastors were in the 1806-1810 period at St. John's Lutheran Church, Friedensburg, Wayne Twp. and Zion Lutheran (the Red Church) in or near Orwigsburg? Thanks in advance. Barbara, The Lutheran archivist in Philadelphia might be able to answer that question for you. Go to the Website at: http://www.ltsp.edu/krauth/archives.html for information about their holdings and services. On that Webpage, you might click on mtairyarchives@ltsp.edu to send E-mail to the archives curator. If he cannot answer your question he might be able to tell you where else you should make inquiry. Hi everyone! Hope everyone is staying cool on this unusually hot late Spring day. :-) Just wanted to take a moment to remind all of us concerning the Digest and our Subject lines. All Rootweb lists go out in two different formats. Regular List Mode and Digest. The Digest being a daily compilation of list messages that is sent out to subscribers as one e-mail. Quite a few of us respond to list messages from the Digest. Which is great. I love seeing people participate on this list. However, we're having a slight problem resending the entire Digest back to the list which then goes back into Digest form creating a big mess to sift through. Please remember to delete the portion not relevant to what you're repsonding to. The easiest way is to click Select All in the message body and click Delete. Subject lines. Again for Digest users. Please remember to remove the Digest information from the Subject and put in something pertaining to the actual message. Same goes for regular List Mode users. That about covers it for now. :-) Thanks! Rick B List Administrator

There is also a town of Hanau, known as Hanau am Main (sp?) (Hanau on the Main River). It is located in the German province of Hesse, where of course, "Hessians" come from. Lived there 18 months myself back in the early 60s. James Stone Linda S. Matthews wrote: > Dean. There is a Hanau in present day Baden-Wuerttemberg.
