Hi List: It has just been so hot. Yesterday my husband and I got up early and went to the local Strawberry Patch! It was wonderful. The berrys were ripe and ready to be picked. We each picked 4 quarts and it took us less than a half hour. Later on we went to lunch at a local resturant on Culvers Lake in Northern New Jersey. The have dining outside on a nice patio right on the lake to celebrate Fathers Day. I have a question for anyone who may have any information on how to freeze strawberrys. I have never done it and because I have so many and the cost of food is so expensive I thought maybe I could freeze them for a colder more expensive time. I would appreciate any information and I thank you, Sally from still very warm Newton, New Jersey ----- Original Message ----- From: "Georgia Weitzel" <jweitzel@columbus.rr.com> To: "PABERKS@rootsweb. com" <PABERKS@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 16, 2008 11:20 AM Subject: [PABERKS] Just Checking > Checking to see if the list was up and running as I have not received any > e > mails from the list for a couple of days. > > > > Georgia > > ==== PABERKS Mailing List ==== > PABERKS@rootsweb.com > > To contact the List Administrator: > Rick Berkheiser, PABERKS-admin@rootsweb.com > > To visit the Berks Message Board: > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec?htx=board&r=rw&p=localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.berks > > To visit the Berks County, PA website: > http://www.pa-roots.com/~berks/ > Hosted by Nancy Freehafer > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > PABERKS-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Hi Marguerite, I would be very very happy to have copies of the pages from the Stout Volume you have on the lines of Hannah/Sarah Stout, daughter of Daniel and any pages you feel are connected to her. She was born in Indiana according to census records. Do you know why the Stouts went to Indiana and then to Circleville? I would be very happy to reimburse you for copies and postage. You are very kind to do this for me. My ggfather was Aaron Joseph Stout b. about 1814, d. about 1863 Centre County PA. He married Mary Shawley. Indications are he came from Berks County. Stout may have various spelling e.g., Stoudt, Staudt, etc. Does anyone have this Stout in their lineage. I have been looking for his parents for over 20 years. Roy Stout

Harold Stout died several years ago. His wife had some for a while. i believe she is now dead. The son, according to info I got a couple of years ago, is not interested in reissuing them. Adm. Stout sent me a booklet of Stout marriages (spellings various) from PA, when I got the book many years ago. At the time I didn't realize I should have gotten both of them. I was just through Stoutsville last Friday. There was a Stout Crist marriage in PA. They came to Pickaway co. My Simon Crist who came from PA had two daughters marry Stout men - George and Jonathan. If you want me to zap out the pages in the Stout book, I can do that. My book is the Second Edition of vol. 2. John Michael Staudt containes the Berks co map, plus Stoutsville and Circleville maps. Just a note on the Stout//Staudt etc surname. George and Jonathan Stout came from PA to what became Stoutsville Ohio, which is just down the road from Circleville. The Stout line is mixed up with my Crist/Christ lines several times. Most either came to Ohio, or their families did. Harold Stout did two books, one supposedly English Stout and one supposedly German Staudt, However, I have found that there is a good bit of each in both books. I only own the 2d one, but have seen the English one. For what its worth. Pat......In 1850 Census in Maxatawny, Berks Co it appears they are already or just married and living with her parents: John Felthoff 52 lime burner Sarah Felthoff 48 Henry Felthoff 20 lime burner Louisa Felthoff 15 attended school w/i the year Lesetta Felthoff 7 Daniel Stoudt 20 laborer married within the year Harriett Stoudt 17 married within the year You might want to look at the 1840 Census, to see if any of his surname live in the area with a male child c10. I have seen the name STAUD/STAUDT as well as STOUT/STOUDT. In fact, there was a Daniel STAUDT who died 4/1/1820 in Reading, and was the schoolmaster and organist for Trinity Lutheran church in Reading for 34 years. He had several boys, but only 2 who may have lived to maturity and had a family. I don't know if any located to the Maxatawny area or not. Good luck...hope someone else will read this and can find your Daniel.
