Be advised the church is actually in the village of Pricetown, about 4 miles from Fleetwood. Pricetown Road is also known as State Rt. 12. There is a small cemetery beside the church; however for the dates you are reporting they would probably be buried in the Pricetown Cemetery, just off State Rt. 662, immediately west of State Rt. 12. Another small cemetery. Again be advised if they lived and died in Fleetwood, there are at least two much larger cemeteries in Fleetwood. If you are going to visit area, stop by Berks County Genealogical Society, 4th floor, 2nd and Washington Streets in Reading (free parking at rear). They have Reading Eagle newspaper for years you mentioned on film, you can check them for an obit. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: DonnaC50 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.berks/9905/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Greetings all, can anyone tell me if this Church has a cemetery attached to it's property and is the correct address 3713 Pricetown Road? I have just learned I have ancestors buried there and would like to visit and I'm hoping it is not a huge cemetery to search in. Also, can anyone advise how I would go about obtaining obituaries for my people? Robert J. Cole died in August 1966 and his wife Mattie died in April 1972, both in Fleetwood. I believe her son Clyde Peet (maybe used the name Cole) died some time between 1920 and 1930 census. He may also be buried in St. John's. I'd be very grateful for any guidance. Emmanual supposedly immigrated from Germany. Catharine married my 5th great grandfather, Martin Maurer, in 1797, after her first husband, George Mengel died, leaving her a young widow. I wondered if anyone was familiar with the name Süss and its origins. One website says it means "sweet" in German, but what last name significance does this have? I'd be interested in making any connections with other descendants from this family.

    3. I, too, have Magdalena's birth and death as 01 Jan 1777 and 09 Jul 1849 in Richmond Twp, Berks Co. I show her husband's name as Jacob Rotharmel, not Rothermel. I don't list Fegley. Roth (pronounced rote) is the old German word for red (today, it's rot, pronounced rote). Armel is the German word for sleeve. Hence, "rotharmel", pronounced "rode-ora-mel" in PA-Dutch, is the german word for "redsleeve". In German, he was Jacob (Yokup) Rotharmel; in PA-Dutch, he was Checky Rodeoramel. 3. Looking for anyone who might have information about Mary C. DORANG who married Adam SCHWALB and resided in Reading, Berks Co in 1880. Widow Mary C. resided in the Wilkes-Barre after 1900. Mary C. is part of the Peter DORANG and Catharine KEPPLER family who originally resided in Schuylkill Co. (Note: we believe we have found the SCHWALB family back to Edesheim, Pfalz, Bayern.) I have been unsuccessful in finding information for the Peter DORANG and Catharine KEPPLER family in the 1860 and 1870s. Only known solid early records are the 1850 US Census entry in Blythe Twp, Schuylkill Co, PA and a Christening record for daughter Catharine (b: 16 Sep 1852) on 10 Oct 1852 and Christian on (b: 13 Jan 1848) on 30 Jan 1848 at St John the Baptist (German) Catholic Church, Pottsville, Schuylkill Co, PA. Mary C. is believed to be the part of this family. ===================== 1 Peter Dorang b: 1819 Bavaria Immigration: 1845 Census: 1850 Blythe Twp, Schuylkill Co, PA .. +Catharine Keppler b: 1822 Bavaria .... 2 Helen Dorang b: 1842 Bavaria .... 2 Peter Dorang b: Jan 1844 Bavaria Census 1: 1870 Rahm Twp, Schuylkill Co, PA Census 2: 1880 Hauto, Carbon Co, PA Census 3: 1900 Philadelphia, PA Census 4: 1900 Pottstown Boro, Montgomery Co, PA d: 1910 ........ +Rebecca Hoffman b: Aug 1845 PA m: 1865 Census: 1920 Coaldale, Schuylkill Co, PA d: 1932 .... 2 Philipp Dorang b: 1846 PA .... 2 Christian Dorang b: 13 Jan 1848 Schuylkill Co, PA .... 2 William Dorang b: Jan 1850 PA Census 1: 1880 Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co, PA Census 2: 1900 Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co, PA Census 3: 1910 Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne Co, PA ........ +Mary ? b: Oct 1856 Bavaria m: 1876 .... 2 Catharina Dorang b: 16 Sep 1852 Schuylkill Co, PA .... 2 Mary C. The 1865 GAR discharge papers for sons Peter and Philip indicate their residence was in Port Carbon. Son Peter is in Rahm Twp, Schuylkill Co, PA in 1870. Son William is only found starting in 1880 in Wilkes-Barre. Daughter Mary C. is only found starting 1880 in Reading, Berks Co. The family is yet to be found in the 1860 and 1870 censuses. Unfortunately, there are many spelling variations of their DORANG surname. The following are some of the known variations from official documents and censuses: DORAN, DORN, DERN, DURRONG, DIRRING, DURANG. ____________________________________________________________ Sweepstakes!!!
