I am looking for Harter/Herder records from about 1750 to 1770. Specifically, I am looking for births of Georg and Eva Harter's other children: Georg, Christina, Adam, Frantz, Jacob, Conrad, Elizabeth, Magdalena, Dorothea, and Catharina. At that time their name was most frequently spelled Herder. I found their wedding (26 Oct 1752) and the birth -- or christening -- of their oldest son, Christian (4 Aug 1753), in Lehigh County records. In 1769 the family shows up in the Frederick County, MD, church records and I have reason to believe that during the interval they just might have been in the Tulpehocken region. I was hoping to find something there. Thanks for checking. Elizabeth might be the daughter of Georg and Eva Harter, but I would not want to hang my hat on it. She is more likely the daughter of Martin because most of George and Eva's family was in southern Virginia by this time. I have absolutely no information on her beyond 1784 when she took communion with the family. She would have been 22 years old at that time. So the search goes on -- where were they between Christian's birth in 1753 and their 1769 appearance in Fredrick County????? 3. You might try York County PA -- I've seen some families move there before moving farther south. Jan On Jun 28, 2008, at 5:40 PM, gc-gateway@rootsweb.com wrote: > > So the search goes on -- where were they between Christian's birth > in 1753 and their 1769 appearance in Fredrick County?????

Author: RobertHarter Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.berks/9906/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Does anyone know of early birth records in Berks County?
