This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: BarbaraWaits54 Surnames: Batdorf / Zeller / Feg / Walborn Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.berks/9912/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The site http://www.horseshoe.cc/pennadutch/places/pennsylvania/berksco/townships/tulpehocken/tulpehocken.htm has a map of early homesteads in Tulpehocken township, PA dated c. 1728 (hard to read the date). One of the visible homesteads is that of a Martin Batdorf. I would like more information on the map and how I can get a better copy and further detail about Martin Batdorf's homestead in Tulpehocken. The email listed for the webmaster of the site above is no longer working. And the "land records" link on the site is broken as well. I am also seeking proof of the following information noted by **. My 7th GGM was Anna Marie Catharina (listed as Badtorffin, Anna, (k) widow & 2 ch in the 1717 SIMMENDINGER REGISTER) Her son Johannes Martinus Batdorf was my 6th GGF. I believe his wife to be **Marie Elisabeth Walborn. And their son, John Adam Bottorff and his wife, **Anna Elizabeth Zeller, daughter of **Johan Heinrich Zeller, were my 5th G grandparents. And I believe the parents Anna Elizabeth Walborn were **Johann (Hans) Adam Walborn and **Anna Elisabetha Feg / Fake / Feck . Johan Heinrich Zeller is listed as Zoller, Hanss Henrich, (k) w. & 3 ch in the 1717 SIMMENDINGER REGISTER). 3 Fegs and Hans Adam Walbron were also listed in the 1717 SIMMENDINGER REGISTER. Note: All but the Fegs were living in the small village of Neu=Ansberg (k) Schmidsdorf in 1717 in Schoharie, NY. The Fegs were in a village not far away. I believe the Batdorfs, Zellers, Walborns, and Fegs (Fake, Feck) all moved c. 1723-30 to the Tuplehocken valley in PA (parts now in Berks and Lebanon counties?). Any help would be most appreciated. Justine, since you know his mother's death date. Two pronged attach: (a.) Go to the PA Dept of Health in New Castle. (They have a webpage) and get her death certificate. Cause of death etc should be listed. and (b) Go to the newspapers for her obit.. For Harry, back to the newspaper with the info acquired, did he survive his mother if he did, you only have about 60 - 65 papers to search. Also, check the wills, estates etc and see if she had any type of an estate. All, I have been looking for years for info on the Heckman School in Perry Twp. of perhaps 150 years ago... Last night I stumbled on it, in an index for Passing Scene--Vol 13, pages 184 and 185. Can anyone tell me what it says - better yet, e-mail me a copy? Thanks, Jeff Heckman Penfield, NY
