    3. Hi Becky, I am a Noll and would be glad to exchange info with you. My line goes down from Elmer, 1869-1957, to Serenus, 1846 - 1922, to George, 1803-1858. Let me know if you recognize any of these names. They all lived in Berks and Schuylkill Counties. 1. [PABERKS] Lykens/Leicken/Wicklein/Wickline
    2. Good day, More than a year ago I posted a query regarding the parentage of ancester Sarah Lykens, born Apr 1810, the wife of Peter Fuhrman/Foreman of Robeson tp. With assistance from members of this list, I learned that Sarah was baptized at Plow Lutheran Church, the daughter of William Lykens & his wife Rebecca. I have now confirmed that William Lykens married Rebecca Wicklein, the daughter of Adam Wicklein of Robeson tp. I have abstracted the following data from several Berks County estate files: Adam Wicklein, 1832, Robeson tp. Last will & testament, writ 25 Jul 1830, names the following four children: Jacob, Rebecca, Catharine (husband John Frees), and Hannah. Wording suggests that all four children may be deceased. Daughter Hannah's child is named Joseph Espenship. Executors: William Wicklein & John H. Moyer. Witnessed by William Likens and Allen Lewis. Frederick Wicklein, 1830, Robeson tp. Last will & testament writ 13 May 1829. His father Adam Wicklein is to hold the testator's real estate for the duration of the father's life; thereafter, the real estate is to be divided amongs the four children of the testator's deceased sister Rebecca Likens, to wit: Hannah, Elisabeth, William, and Sally. Executor: William Likens ("the said William Likens," meaning his nephew). Berks County Tax Records (checked Robeson & Caernarvon from 1781 to 1809): John Likens, weaver, Robeson, 1799-1809+, 8A William Likens, weaver, 1799-1809+, 25A Samuel Likens, 1805, freeman I find William Lykens on the 1810 Federal Census but not thereafter. It appears that both he and his wife Rebecca Wicklein may have young. Unfortunately, I did not have time to continue to pursue tax records beyond 1809. William's probable brother John remains in Robeson tp. for the duration of his life. I posted previous Lykens data to this forum that can be easily accessed via search. My query questions: 1. Any information on the children of William Lykens & his wife Rebecca Wicklein 2. Adam Wicklein's wife is named Catharina, according to Internet search, but I find no clear evidence of her surname. One undocumented Internet posting identifies her as Catharine Seifert/Seyfert. 3. I have not had time yet to research the Wickleins, though I should have ample sources, but any data on this family is appreciated. Sincerely, Ed Wevodau Grapevine, TX

I am seriously stuck on a Clyde LEINBACH, born 13 October 1886. One documents says he was born in Williamsport, which I know is in Lycoming County. Two other documents says he was born in Turbotville, Pennsylvania. The only Turbotville I can find is in Northumberland County. It there anyplace in Berks County with a name of Turbotville or something similar? I am looking at Benjamin LEINBACH and his family at the moment because all the other information I've been given by Clyde's now 78 year-old daughter fits this family - name of mother and siblings - and it's the only one I can find. I can find Clyde in the 1910, 1920 and 1930 Massachusetts census, but not in 1900. I'm trying to get his death certificate, but I don't think it's going to contain anything useful. So far I have nothing that would remotely connect him to Benjamin. Vanessa Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: v_stern Surnames: LEINBACH Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.berks/9913/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am trying to find info on Benjamin LEINBACH and his family, who lived in Bern Township in 1900. Benjamin, b. May 1859, school teacher Sallie, b. August 1861 Edward K., b. April 1883 Samuel W., b. April 1886 Allen A., b. July 1888 They were still in Bern in 1910 and had added a daughter, Helen K., age 7 I have been able to track the three sons and they all appear to have lived and died in Reading. There is a family story that there may have been another son, Clyde. But he was also born in 1886, gives a completely different location for his birth (on his WWI and WWII draft registration cards, which don't agree with each other), and otherwise doesn't fit with this family at all. He lived in the Boston area and died there in 1947/1948. I am begnning to wonder if he was adopted or was a nephew or something along those lines. I would appreciate any hints as to where to look for info. My research is all in York and Adams counties, so I am not familiar with Berks. Which newspapers could I look in for obituaries of Benjamin and Sallie? Which Lutheran church would be likely for baptism information? Maybe I just have the completely wrong family!! 3. Vanessa, There is only one Turbotville in Pa., about 2-1/2 mi. south of the Lycoming Co. line. On a straght line from Williamsport it is about 12 miles SE, though a few miles further by road. The hospital nearest to Turbotville in 1886 would most likely have been in Williamsport. Turbotville is a small town, not widely known, and people from the area might report they were "from Williamsport" as an approximation of their home area. You might want check in the county courthouse in Williamsport for records. The Leinbachs I knew in that area 50-70 years ago were of German extraction, mostly Lutherans and a few German Reformed. It there anyplace in Berks County with a name of Turbotville or something similar?
