If you hover over the bar you'll get a drop down box (if you lose the box click on the down arrow at the end of the search box then click on advanced search, the box will drop down again). At the bottom under source type in Reading Eagle and under location type in Pennsylvania then click on "search". Click on any of the articles that come up then at the top left click on "Browse this newspaper. Enter the date you want where it says date. You can use month and year or just year. The available editions will come up. For old obits I usually start with the edition of the actual death date and check each days paper for 3 to 5 days. For more recent years, say from the 60's and up, I start with the day after the death date. If you go to page 1 of the paper it has a index that states what page obituaries are found, so you don't have to go through each page. This is only for more recent papers, say from the 70's on I! think. I click on full screen then enlarge twice so it's not scrambled. I have Windows Vista so I can use the snipping tool to capture the article. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. The Google search of the newspapers has never been any good. partly because the newspaper were converted to text with OCR The best way to get information from the Google newspapers is to enter the newspaper at a date close to the event and they moving forward or back until you find the information you are looking for. It is a shame that Google has abandon these newspapers.
