I hope I thanked you for the information on Benjamin Brown (1806) Did I ask you about Frederick Braun (1739) in regard to the last name and bir. place of his wife, Louisa? Also the last name and bir place of Frederick Jr.'s (1783) wife, Elizabeth or the last name of Jacob Brown's (1815-Peter Brown and Catherine Trace's boy) wife, Elizabeth??? Greg told me that there is a Doolittle Brown reunion held each year--this year is the 75th to be held in Story City, Iowa. I have asked him if he knows anyone involved in that organization currently who may have information to share. Do you know about it? Apparently none of their info is online. Well, I don't know if I can help you much. I'm a Gruber descendent, but not down the line that you are trying to research. All I have on the Henry Gruber that you mention is an undocumented birth date of 19 Aug 1747 and a wife named Anna Margaret Klopp. If you can check out the Connected Warrantee Township Map for N. Heidelberg Twp, Berks Co., you will find a Klopp family living very near the Gruber homestead. I have no information connecting Anna Margaret to this family, not even a DOB for her. There is a Peter Klopp that appears on the map. He received a Patent 30 Mar 1810 for land originally Warranted to Leonard Gesell, who died abt 1750/1751. Leonard's widow remarried to my ancestor Henrich Freyman in 1752. The land must have been sold to Peter Klopp, or more likely, his father, before the widow's second marriage. There is also another parcel that Peter Klopp received a Patent for on the same date, 30 Mar 1810, for land originally Warranted to Nicholas CLOTT on 15 Mar 1749. This parcel is right next to the Leonard Gesell property. Nicholas may be the father of Peter as well as Anna Margaret, who married Henry Gruber. So, the circumstantial evidence points to Henry Gruber meeting and possibly marrying Anna Margaret Klopp here in Berks. Where he went from here and when, I have no idea. I hope that I've helped somewhat. Good luck in your research and be sure to post the results here if you find anything good. Linda, If he had a pension that is considered proof of service. If it was a federal pension or land grant there is a record of it in the US Archives in Washington, DC. The VA payments are in the archives in Richmond. how common were marriage bonds in 1828? How detailed are church records at Christs Lutheran Church that same year in Oley?
I am trying to locate a marriage date or marriage bond for Johann Nicolaus Ludwig and Murich Magdalena (unknown). We believe they married in Berks County PA between 1774-1776. He was an indentured servant in Berks in 1767 after arriving from Saxony, Germany and released approximately 1774. He then moved on into Mecklenburg, now Cabarrus County, North Carolina where his first child Henry was born in late 1777. He was a school teacher and passed away in 1780/81. Thank you so much for your time, Terri

Jacob of Tulpehocken, who married Catharine MILLER, was the son of Johan Adam WEGERLIN/WEGERLE//WEIGLEY (up to 37 spellings of this surname) and Hannah Eva WALTER. Adam is my ancestor. Samuel (listed in the message under War of 1812) is also Adam's son and my ancestor. The WEIGEL family is a close spelling but, during years of research and examining every entry of WEIGEL, I have not made a connection to my family. It is very confusing and, if anyone has made a connection between the two families, I would love to have the information. Barbara Wegley Anderson Cincinnati **************Start the year off right.
