Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.pennsylvania.counties.berks/2978.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: There is no such thing as TOO much information, as you will see from my reply! In your information on Leah you mention that Henry Nell Married (2) a Mrs. Bushey. Do we know which one? You also mention that Henry Nell's daughters, Leah, who married Daniel Hartman, and Christine who married Nicholas Bushey. I would be interested in any information you have on that last marriage. Or information you may have on the Bushey family in general early on. My husband's g-g-grandmother was Sarah Bushey, married to Solomon Hartman, Jr., m: 16 Mar 1848. We BELIEVE her to be the daughter of Esther MICKLEY and Nicolaus BUSCHI/BUSHEY and that Nicolaus may be the son of a Michael BUSHEY. Any help here with some sources, B dates, D dates etc would be very helpful. You also mention a K. Albert. The Bushey/Hartman side is my husband's Paternal side, however his Maternal side is Albert. Mostly from Northampton County, but was interested in whether you knew the parental information for K. Albert who married Rebecca Nell. I am having a hard time locating and fitting together those that have moved away from the Northampton County area. The information on our Bushey's as we believe it to be is as follows: 1. Michael BUSHEY: dates unknown 2. Nicolaus BUSCHI b: 08 Sep 1976 d: 19 may 1852 Esther MICKLEY b: 30 Aug 1804 d: 27 Oct 1887 3. Sarah BUSHEY b: 22 Dec 1824 d: 11 May 1911 Solomon HARTMAN, Jr. b: 26 Oct 1823 d: 14 May 1899 I have siblings for Sarah if you need them. Any and ALL help would be gratefully received. I am in Georgia and it is difficult to get to the Gettysburg/Arentdtsville area. I will be there Feb 23/24 but will not be able to do any research as my husband is from that area and it's his 50th birthday party. Thank you again in advance. 1. Re: [PABERKS] Is Becker the same as Baker
    2. Baker is the Anglicization of the Germanic Becker. You certainly should check for both. Also, don't discount "Beck." A different surname but obviously easily confused, especially when the speaker has a thick German accent and the recorder is English. Also search for Becher, Bacher, Bachert, etc., as well as Peck/Pecker/Pachert/etc. I find this a difficult name to search due to the large number of possible variants in conjunction with the commonality of the surname.

Co., 1905. Pgs 628-629. Adam Nell, the first member of his family to come to Cumberland county, was born in Adams county, Pa., where his ancestors settled at an early day. The family is of German origin, Henry Nell, the great-grandfather of Adam and the first of the name in this country, coming hither from Heidelberg, Germany, and settling in Adams county. Descendants of Henry Nell settled at Bermudian, Adams Co., Pa., and from there members of the family have scattered all over the United States, one son emigrating to Canada. Henry Nell married for his first wife a Miss Brough and for his second a Mrs. Bushey. His children were as follows: Jacob, who went to Canada, as before mentioned; Mary, Mrs Snyder; John, deceased; Susan who married John Elicker; Henry, who married Margaret Bushey; Lydia, who married Samuel Walker; LEAH, who married DANIEL HARTMAN; and Christine, who married Nicholas Bushey.
