Same here Sally, when I clicked on the link I got a message that said http://www.erhs.info/ERHS/Home.html could not be found Betty
Hi Michelle: I am searching for my GRANT relatives. I saw you e mail site for the Evangelical and Reformend Historical Society and tried to access it but it would not go through. Could you please tell me if it is http://www.erhs.info/ERHS/Home.html exactly like this because I can't get it to work. do I use the http:// ? Where is it located and have you been there and what information do they have? Can you go there in person and do research? Do they do research for a fee? Do you have to join? I am so sorry for all the questions but I have searched for my John and Maria Grant for over 30 years. I found them on the 1800 census in Berks Co, So I know they are there, and also found their Children; Jacob, Jeremiah, Charles, Maria and Bartolette and their families later on. Thank you so much. Mr Fosnocht, I am trying to help a friend of mine with his genealogy. He was adopted right after his birth and has only recently received his original birth certificate from the state of Ohio. His father's name was Walter Marion Fosnight and his mother's maiden name was Racheal June Barry. He was born on March 25th, 1943 in Bedford, OH and he was named after his father. According to his birth certificate, he has some older siblings that he has never met. Thank you, Mary On Jan 1, 2008 8:51 PM, Bruce Fosnocht <bfosnocht@charter.net> wrote: > Hello, > > I will begin the New Year by asking for help with some of my dead ends. > One of the shortest lines in my whole family tree is that of my grandmother, > Sarah Ida HIMES. Brown which brings up questions. Frederick Braun (1739 s/o Johan Peter Braun) had a daughter, Catherine born in 1762 who married Adam Foust (1760 s/o Adam Sr. and Anna Louisa Strauch). I am now informed that after Adam Sr. died at Valley Forge in 1778 his wife, Anna Louisa married Frederick Braun, her son's father-in-law. I had attributed all of Frederick's children to a "Louisa" but was concerned about the widely seperated dates of birth, impossilbe for one woman. It now appears that Louisa was Anna Louisa and the only child I can verify as being hers from a union with Frederick is Frederick Jr. born in 1783. Her approx dob is 1735, making her too old to be the mother of Benjamin. So Frederick's younger children were born while she was wife to Adam Foust,Jr and his oldest children were probably from a thrid wife. Any help from your end with this p! uzzle??? Someone, it may have been you, listed a Susanna as a dau of Frederick b 1756. I have always discounted that dob since Frederick would have been extremely young, but I guess an earlier marriage in his early youth could have produced Susanna, Catherine, Peter and John. However, Susanna is reported to be the wife ofJohannes Foust born 1768, so a dob of 1756 seems unlikely for her. Other sources place it closer to 1780. I just cannot get this family straight! To Michelle in Ohio, If you are referring to the one on James Street in Lancaster which is located in the library of the UCC Seminary, the answer is "YES". The limited staff is very helpful, but have your list of specifics ready. I also have found genealogy library and the holdings and staff at the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society even better. They have much more than just Mennonite material. Most of their books are on 'open stacks' and you can do your own brousing. It is located off of Route 30 east of Lancaster. Diane - Thank you very much. I have much of that. I have trouble following the sons. I am searching for a Susannah who married a John Milton CHRIST/CRIST. She must be connected to these families somehow. The death certificate of her son Joseph, uses COUP. My Christ was in Berks co, John's brother Simon was in Pine Grove in what became Schuylkill Co. There is controversy about Susannah's death, some saying PA. but a son' says she died in Ohio. I have so many lines in Berks/Schuylkill co area, and they all seem to crisscross. Many of my families came to the area of Fairfield co Ohio. Thanks for your help. I always look forward to you and Geri and your helpful info. Margaret Crist Calvin, SE Ohio
