    1. Re: [PABERKS] Jeremiah Boyer & wife Sarah
    2. Betty, Many thanks. The Jeremiah Boyer I have was born 1810 in Amityville and died 1840. (There seems to have been another Boyer family with similar names.) The family I'm looking for is as follows: Henry K. Boyer 1781 - 1836 Hannah (Steiner) 1789 - 1853 (Both buried Amityville Cem.) Children: 1. Jeremiah - 26 April 1810 2. Julian/Julia Ann - 1815 3. Isaac - 3 January 1817 4. Catherine - 23 January 1821 5. Henry S. - 2 May 1825 Hannah's mother, Maria/Mary, was the 2nd wife of Jacob Bunn. I'm still deciphering the Will from her estate file. Will post it as soon as I figure out a couple of words. Also looking for this Maria's maiden name and the Steiner she married. There was a John Steiner in Berks prior to Jacob's death in 1822 - Exeter Twp. Thanks again. Jane **************Get trade secrets for amazing burgers. Watch "Cooking with Tyler Florence" on AOL Food. 1. [PABERKS] Jeremiah Boyer & wife Sarah
    2. Betty Burdan
    3. Jane, I'm not sure the Jeremiah Boyer I found is the same one you are looking for, but judging from his obituary and that of his wife [see below], this Jeremiah Boyer was married to a Sarah Yergey. I know a little about the Yergey family and in Sarah's obit she was survived by a sister Miss Elizabeth Yergey. Elizabeth Yergey was never married and Yergey was her maiden name. It is likely that this Sarah Boyer's maiden name was also Yergey or in some cases Yorgey. The spelling of the name changed from one to the other over the years and was used interchangeably by the press. Betty Burdan Reading Eagle, Reading, PA Death of Aged Member of Amityville Church Mrs. Sarah Boyer, widow of Jeremiah Boyer, passed away yesterday morning at 7 o’clock at the residence of her sister, Mrs. Harriet Weaver, 21 West Third Street. Deceased was aged 89, years, 2 months and 23 days. She was one of the oldest residents of the borough and enjoyed the respect of a large number of friends. She was a consistent member of Amityville Lutheran Church. Deceased is survived by the following sisters: Mrs. Harriet Weaver, Mrs. Katherine Sands and Miss Elizabeth Yergey, of Pottstown and Mrs. Matilda Fritz, of Reading. Funeral on Thursday morning, Jan. 16, at 10 o’clock, from her late residence. Short services at the house. Further services in the Amityville Church, Interment in the Amityville Cemetery. Reading Eagle, Reading, PA October 29, 1898 Amityville – Jeremiah Boyer Dead Jeremiah Boyer died of the infirmities of old age at 2 a.m. Wednesday at his residence here, aged 76 years. He was ailing several months and bedfast about 2 weeks. He is survived by his widow. Funeral on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Interment in the Amityville Cemetery. Undertakers Bunn & VanReed have charge. 3. I am looking for info on a Mary Sailor who married Elias Fluke. One informant states she came from Virginia. Sailor and Seylor etc, could be alternate spellings of this name as they are phonetically the same. Mary and Elias ended up in Bedford Co, Pa as several other of my ancestors. This has been a very hard family for me to trace. Mary was born about 1797. Would be happy to hear from you on this family Janice Marguerite Crist Calvin <cristcalvin@verizon.net> wrote: I am seeking information on Catharine SEILER who married George CHRIST in Trinity Tulpehocken Reformed Church, on 15 November 1801. I have been told the church is in Berks co and also in Lebanon co PA. There were Seyler/Seiler families in Tulpehocken, but I have been unable to determine Catharine's parents. I do have a George Christ and wife Catharine witnessing a baptism in Schuylkill co PA. George's brother Simon and wife Elizabeth Braun/Brown were in Schuylkill co at the time. George and Simon were sons of Johan George Christ and Maria Margaretha Kantner. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you for reading this. 1. Re: [PABERKS] HENRY FRYMAN BORN 1818
    2. Jim Freeman
    3. I've found the Freeman surname spelled every way that Geri listed, plus more, including "Fuhrman", which is a real stretch. I'm still searching for the origin of the earliest generation I've documented in Berks Co. as follows: Henrich Freyman married 24 Sep 1752 to the widow of Leonard Gesell, Anna Catharine, at "Heidelburg" according to Rev. Stover's records. This is the earliest record that I have found documenting the Freyman/Freeman family in the Berks Co. area. Henry's sister, Maria Elizabetha, married first to Johan Christian Berger, wheelwright of Bern Twp. His first wife was Maria Barbara Weiss. Maria Elizabetha remarried after the death of Christian Berger to John Adam Schmidt/Smith, f/o Christina who married Casper Freeman, the only son of Henry Freyman. By virtue of a Warrant from the Propietaries bearing date the 24th day of October 1754, Henry Freeman claimed a tract of land situated in Bern Twp., later Upper Bern Twp. and now Centre Twp., Berks County, with the Survey # C59 180 returned the 22 Feb 1760 in his name. Patent #H29 - 328, was issued 22 Mar 1831 to Henry Marx, an Administrator of the Estate of Casper Freeman. The property is located about 2 miles from Belleman's Church, where I suspect that Henry & Casper are buried. The burial records from the time period can't confirm or deny it. Many unmarked or poorly marked graves exist in the old cemetery there. Casper was a Trustee at Belleman's Church. I've found no ship list records that prove that Henry & Maria Elizabetha were immigrants. One Jacob Freyman appears on the 1725 Tax List for Chester Co., Tulpehocken region, suggesting that Jacob may have been part of the Schoharie, NY migration to the Tulpehocken Settlement. The handwriting on the original tax document shows the spelling to be subject to various interpretations, but to me it appears to be "Jacob Freymen". A Jacob Freyman is listed as one of the first members of Brownback's Church in the 1740's in Chester Co., just south of what's now Pottstown. No Freyman birth, baptism or burial records are shown in the church records of Brownback's. No Warrants or Patents were issued in Jacob's name. He remains a prime suspect on the other side of my brick wall. I've found a George Freeman on the 1790 Census, living in Reading. Not sure how or if he is connected. I've also seen the name Mathias Freyman, Bern Twp., in one church record from the 1700's. Can't connect him either. It's possible that both of them may be siblings of Henry & Maria Elizabetha Freyman. The Freymans of Northampton and Carbon counties may be related to the Berks line, but those lines probably connect back in Germany. The Northampton line hailed from Langenselbold. Until information about the parents of Henrich & Maria Elizabetha Freyman is found, there is no way to know. 3. Since we're on the Delong family ... I am looking for Katie Ann Delong (1784-1840) who married John Henry Waltz. John Henry Waltz was born in Berks County, so there is a good chance that Katie was as well.  I do not have her parents' names, nor any siblings.  I think I had them at one point but my computer crashed last summer, with all of the info I had entered into the database.  Anyway, any help would be appreciated.
