I noticed he wasn't mentioned in his brother Bernard's obit, so he much have died before 1985. Only other mention I can find of him is that he wa sin the 1920 census for Berks, aged 10, son of James V & Carrie Keenan. Also, the Benga Keenan in 1880 (aged 72) is who I come from. It looks like your cousin Linda Keenan was a Grimmer in 1985 and she had a brother Guy R. Reading Eagle, Reading, PA November 18, 1985 BERNARD R. KEENAN, 69, died Sunday morning of natural causes in his Reading RD 4 residence. He was a husband of Adrienne (Wolf) Keenan. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late James and Carrie Keenan. An Army veteran of World War II, he was owner-operator of Reading Art Metal. In addition to his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Linda Grimmer, at home; a son Guy R., Reading; and two grandchildren and a brother, James of Reading. Keenan b. Sept. 17, 1922 d. April 14, 2006 in Reading. The Berks County marriage license application had the maiden name of Helen wrong. Her obituary states it is Mann not Mauer. Below is a transcript of her obituary. I searched for an obituary for James W., however the on line archives seems to be missing the Sept. 26, 1986 issue. The surrounding issues did not include a classified death ad, nor any funeral notice, or follow up article on a funeral. Reading Eagle, Reading, PA Wednesday, October 9, 1996 Helen I. Keenan, 89, of 210 Douglass St., died Monday at 9"45 p.m. in Reading Hospital, where she had been a patient since Sunday morning. Her husband, James W. Keenan, died Sept. 26, 1986. Born in Lancaster, she was a daughter of the late David K. and Anna (Hildebrand) Mann. A member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Reading, Keenan was a past president of the Lutheran Church Women, and a Sunday school teacher for 50 years. Surviving is a daughter Joan K., wife of Harry A. Werner, Reading. Other survivors include a sister, Ruth, widow of John Schaeffer, Tampa, FL; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Patricia K. Seidel. Services will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in St. Luke's Lutheran Church Chapel. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Spring Township. Penn, Reading. According to the census, they were the parents of your James W. Keenan (b. 1906). I also found their obituaries in the Reading Eagle. They had only 3 sons, James W., Bernard R. and Earl and in 1957 had only 4 grandchildren. James V. Keenan here had only 4 siblings surviving him: Mrs. Walter Griffith of Ohio; Harry N.; Joseph and Orville. Do you have any idea how the rest of the Keenans you list are related and is it possible any of them are still living? He was last employed by the Columbia Cutlery Company. He was a polisher 44 years. Surviving, besides his widow, Carrie M. Her husband died in 1923[sic]. Funeral Monday at 11 a.m., in the parlors of T. C. Auman, Inc., the Rev. Samuel C. Jaxheimer officiating. Burial will be in Aulenbach's Cemetery Bernard Robert Keenan and Adrienne May Wolf applied for a marriage license in Berks County on June 10, 1943 (Vol. 141 p. 35). An estate file was filed for Bernard R. Keenan of Lower Alsace, Berks Co., was filed on Nov. 17, 1985. His wife Adrienne's estate file was filed April 14, 2006. James W. Keenen and Helen I.
