    3. I am related to a Loos (my father's mother's side) who came much later to Philadelphia (J. Hermann, my great grandfather, 1891) and was related to the 4th generation of the Loos' that came to Berks. We know this because of an article in the Reading newspaper about the 1915 Loos reunion where my great grandfather spoke, but we don't know how they were related. I have 5 pages from that newspaper which I can forward to you that includes all those in attendance, plus several pages of pictures which included dozens of photos of those in attendance: [email protected] PS: There are several "Snyders" in the article Arlene in California (from Philadelphia originally) On Feb 13, 2011, at 7:21 AM, Lee Lloyd wrote: > > She d. 13 Feb. 1831 and was bu. at Salem Belleman's. 3. Ernie, I think Christian TRITT/TREAT was in Uchlan Chester Co PA and died there in 1801. He may have been in LAncaster Co prior to locating to Chester Co. Here is some info I collected on him: Chester Co Deeds: Treat Christian(grantee) of Uwchlan and John Phipps (grantor) Uwchlan 1768 Deed P 299 Treat Christian(grantor) Uwchlan and wife Catharine to Christopher Ludwick Uwchlan P 264 in 1768 Mortgage Tax lists: Chester Co PA: 1770 Treat Christian 130 acres Uwchlan No slaves, Provincial (P-13B) 213 Landholder 1775 Treat Christian Uwchlan 1785 Treat Christian Uwchlan 1799 Treat Christian Uwchlan TREAT, CHRISTIAN. Uwchlan. July 13, 1799: November 2, 1801. Executors to sell real estate and divide proceeds as follows: To granddaughter Catharine, wife of Richard Hughs £20. To grandsons Joseph and George Mooney and Abraham Treat £20 each. Remainder equally divided between my 4 daughters and Henry Treat's children, viz: Margaret Hederick, Catharine Benson, Freney Jones, Elizabeth Reese and Henry Treat's children. Mentions that George Mooney "is not in this part of the country." Executor: Son-in-law Lewis Reese. Wits: James Meredith, Robert Alexander, Archibald Alexander. Son Henry left Uwchlan by 1787. He must have come across the river to Robeson by then. IN Chester Co, I found this tax info: Chester County - Tax Discounts 1785-1823: County commissioners were empowered to grant discounts, commonly referred to as abatements, to individual tax payers. Based on what was considered “just and reasonable” the reasons for discounts vary, ranging from individuals who were overcharged to one individual who had a “broken thigh”. The most common discounts were granted to the poor and individuals who had left the township. Henry Treat Gone Uwchlan 1787 1785-1789 book (Quota) 82 Henry Treats Gone Uwchlan 1787 1785-1789 book (County) 110 He was on Robeson Berks tax list as TREAD in 1784, so must have left before 1785 from Uwchlan. 1784 tax list: Henry TREAD 127 acres, 2 horses, 3 cattle, 5 sheep In Berks Co, he was co-executor and friend of Martin GLASS, and served with his son George Glass, per will of Martin Glass, Sr of Robeson, written 5/30/1787 and probated 8/2/1787. His name was spelled Henry Tritt. He died by 3/2/1793 per his will abstract: Will Abstract, Berks Co PA Henry Treat, Robeson Will dated 1/19/1793, probated 3/2/1793 To wife Elizabeth the management of all estate during widowhood. After her decease, all children to share equally (not named). Execs: wife Elizabeth and Christian Dannhouer Wits: Jacob Walter and Johannes -----------. 2 sons for him in Chester Co records, East Vincent Reformed: Christian DRITT b 10/4/1770, parents Henry and Elizabeth Jacob DRIT 4/7/1772, parents Henry and Elizabeth 3rd son shown in First Reformed Church, Reading, burials: John TREAT born 10/12/1777 died 3/22/1813, age 35/5/10, of consumption, per First Reformed burials. He must have married Elizabeth in Chester Co since the first 2 sons were born there. Probably the 3d son John was born there too, since tax records show he left the county by 1784-7. I don't know if there are any church records for marriages before 1770 or not at E Vincent. I have marriages for a pastor who was there later in mid 1790s... 3. I assume you have checked the 1850-1870 censuses not only in Rockland Twp but in nearby twps, including over the border in Lehigh Co. Spelling might be a problem -- You can do searches by first name as well as last name, and scan the list for the township to see if there's a weird spelling. Also, have you ever tried browsing line by line through a twp? I've found people that way. Also, perhaps you could start at the early end and try to connect the immigrants to their descendants. The only two DeLONGs I have are: Two brothers, Abraham and Peter DeLONG / DeLANGH who came down to Penna. from the Palatine settlements along the Hudson River in Dutchess County -- Peter m. Eva Elisabetha WEBER b. 1707 at Quassaic Kill and had children baptized there; he came to PA after 1736 (per child bapt in NY) and patented land 1738 in Maxatawny Twp where he died May 1760 near Bowers. You'll find his will in Berks Co will abstracts. His brother Abraham b. abt 1700 m. a Catharine, d. 1756 in Lynn Twp (just over the Berks line in present Lehigh Co).
