The Family Bible of Henry Myers, Sr. has been located. Henry Myers Sr. wrote in the Bible that he was b. September 25, 1782 in Berks Co., Pa., He purchased the Bible in 1834, and wrote in all of the information after the fact, not as it was happening. He lists the details of his three marriages and the names and birth dates of each of his thirteen children. I am a 1C5R of Michael Hildebrand. In the FHL Microfilm # 0021546, Michael Hidebrand was baptized 17 Nov. 1766. His parents are Georg Hildebrand and Maria [Anna Maria Margaretha Hill]. Sponsors are Fransina, the wife of Michael Ruag and Rosina Sammelin. Maria Hildebrand [second given name, Barbara, is not listed] was born 22 Sep 1793, baptized 7 Nov 1793. Her parents are Michael Hildebrand and Elisabeth. Sponsors are Nicholaus Hildebrand and Anna Maria. Unfortunately, in this microfilm, the marriages only go up to 1758. I do recall that some records were lost in a fire, but they may have been the early cemetery records, from what I remember. Lynn K. Thank you Betty, I can cross that off my list, I am trying to find out information on a Daniel Kelchner and Magdalena Keller, who were mar. to each other. I found this in "History of Berks Co.,PA. Maria Eva Freyin, wife of Michael Kelchner, had 4 sons, 1 daughter. In 1761 she married Peter Stetzler. With him she had 5 sons. She was first married in 1752. She was born 24 Jun 1730, died 14 March 1807, aged 70 years 8 mos. 10 days." She is buried at Zion's Church in Perry twp. Diana, The obituary of Sarah (Millard) Weidner, widow of David Weidner is in the Jan. 1, 1897, Reading Eagle, page 3 column 5 under Deaths and Funerals. She died at the residence of a granddaughter, Mrs. William H. Gross; 1730 1/2 Cotton Street at the age of 78 years 8 months and 11 days. She was born in Oley, but lived in Reading for 50 years. Her husband proceeded her in death by 21 years. Three children survive: Benjamin and William of Reading and Mrs. Kate Lutz of Springfield, Miss. (I take that to mean Mississippi not Missouri). She was also survived by a brother Harry and a sister, Mrs. Harriet Albright. She was a member of Zion's U. B. Church. Look for the Millards in Oley, maybe you'll find the right Weidners near by. Betty
Does anyone know which WEIDNER line David WEIDNER 1818-1875 is in? Nothing in the BIOs in History of Berks mention him and a wife Sarah b 3/28/1818. She died 1/1/1897, buried at Aulenbach on 1/5/1897. They had these children, per Census 1850 - (in Reading East Ward). : David Weidner 33 PA Sarah Weidner 33 PA Emma WEIDNER age 11 Daniel WEIDNER age 10 Benjamin age 8 William age 6 Catharine age 3 Son William was in CW, and injured. He married Sallie A BROWN of Robeson Twp, and when married, 12/23/1869 at Central United Methodist church, he stated he was born in Colebrookdale. He died 4/3/1897 and is buried at Charles Evans cemetery where his name is shown as William M WEIDNER. Sallie Ann BROWN, a dau of Peter BROWN and Matilda HUFMAN, born 9/15/1848, died 3/7/1905 and is also buried at Chas Evans. In a newspaper OBIT for William, his family who survived, beside his wife and a son Peter B., was a sister, Mrs. William LUTZ of Missouri, a brother Benjamin, of Reading. Since David WEIDNER named his first born son Daniel, could he be a son of a Daniel WEIDNER? There are several in late 1700s in the area. Would love to know how this David 1818-1875 connects. Anyone have ties to this WEIDNER? Diana in AL audianaq@msn.com

I did notice John and George on census returns along with Daniel, but had not sorted the family lines as of yet. I initially believed Daniel to be the son of Paul, but was unable to make a definitive connection due to the lack of a birth and death date. His wife, Hannah's, death record indicated that Daniel died in 1862, but I do not know where they are buried. I have a book on Berks County Marriages for this time period and will check it to see if there is a Daniel Barlet born 15 Mar 1797. I'll pass what I find along to you. The Barlet's are a line that I have not concentrated on in recent years. I've accumulated information, but have yet to put the pieces together. Your initial post along with your reply to my inquiry are exceptionally helpful in piecing the family history and lines together. You have no idea how invaluable your research is to me. I have recently sent away for Paul Barlet's Estate Papers and I do have a copy of his pension file. I also have a copy of a pension file for one Jacob Barlet husband of Christina Barlet from Mifflin Co. Not sure if there's a connection with the Berks Co. You need to be careful in placing too much on the fact that an apparent son is living with, or near an apparent father. Ephraim Barlet and his first family are living with Daniel and Eva Barlet in Cumru twp Berks Co. in 1850. This Daniel was born on Aug 08, 1786 to Sebastian Barlet born Feb 03, 1795. Daniel Sr has a son Daniel born in Mar 17, 1811. These facts are all verified. Based on the fact that Ephraim was living with Daniel and Eva in Cumru, the "fact" was created that Ephraim was the son of Daniel and Eva. I fell into this trap as well as a researcher who actually published the information in the 1990's. This was destroyed when Ephraim's obituary was found and it listed his real parents. So, be careful in creating a relationship based on location. My conclusion is based on a few factors. 1. Death notice - Reading Adler 29 Apr 1862 Blandon 65/1/12 This makes his birth 15 Mar 1797, not 1795 2. A Daniel is listed 2 times in Paul Barlet's Estate papers. 3. I believe this to be the most significant, Daniel & Hannah lived next to John & George their entire adult lives. They all worked as stone masons & laborers. Paul Barlet's property was located at Seidel Crossing, located almost exactly on the Maidencreek & Ruscombmanor boundary. John, George & Daniel lived in that exact location. It's likely the property was subdivided. It is where present day Barlet road is located. Daniel's son, Daniel Jr, lived in the old house at Seidel Crossing. It was later sold to Paul W. Barlet for $1. 4. Is it possible that a Daniel Barlet, from another family, moved to Ruscombmanor and lived on the same property as Paul, John & George? Other than Paul Barlet & Catharine Moll settling in Seidel Crossing/Blandon, what other Barlet families are nearby? At the very least, I can't see how this Daniel is attached to Johannes Berlet and Elizabeth Brautigam, when all evidence places him with Paul's family. Barlet's mentioned by name in Paul Barlet's account papers. Daniel, Susan, John, George & Sarah. Children named directly in will. Mentions having eight children. Sarah, Jacob, John, George & Susan. Three children not named, but a son-in-law, Daniel Hinkel, is mentioned. I have only identified seven children. John 1784, Jacob 1786, Susan 1792, George 1794, Paul 1794 twin died young, Daniel 1797 & Sarah 1804. John is buried at St. Paul's, Fleetwood Jacob is buried at St. John's, Gernant's Susan is buried at St. Peter's UCC (next to Sarah) George is buried at St. Paul's, Fleetwood Daniel unknown, best guess, either St. Paul's or Pricetown Sarah is buried at St. Peter's UCC (next to Susan) There is a Paul Barlet buried at St. Paul's with no dates given. I have applied to Sons of the American Revolution using Paul Barlet as my primary source. He has left an exceptional pension application & record. I'd be happy to send what source info I have collected. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Mary KISSINGER and her husband Walter BERKMAN of Reading, Pennsylvania which was taken at the Fritz Studio in Reading. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with the couple likely in their 20's or 30's at the time. This may well be their wedding photograph. In addition to the names, someone has written "Aunt" on the back of the photograph. I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. I have an inquiry regarding Daniel Berlet (No. 29 in your post) b. 1801 d. After 1850, who married Hannah Rauenzahn. This is a direct line ancestor of mine. You have him listed as a child of Paul Berlet & Catharine Moll. I have other Berlet family researchers who have stated that Daniel is the son of Johannes Berlet and Elizabeth Brautigam, b. 27 May 1795. This Daniel is No. 14 in your post. Given that you state in another thread that you are descendant from Paul Berlet and Catharine Moll, I am hoping that you have some definitive sources that helped you make the connection between Daniel (#29) b. 1801 and his father Paul Berlet, as I have been unable to make a definitive connection between my Daniel and either Paul (#6) or Johannes Berlet (#4). Any info/records that shed light on this would be most helpful and greatly appreciated. Dennis Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
