I am new to the list and I am researching the name LUMM/LUM. My connection is Jesse Albert Lumm who was born in 8/16/1840 in Beaver Co. PA. His father was Mortomer Hampton LUMM. Mortomer Hampton was in the 1840 census index of Beaver Co. as well as two Jesse LUMMs. I believe one may be his grandfather. Jesse Sr. as I will call him came to Beaver Co. in 1834. He filed for pension in 1835 and was listed in the 1840 census next to Mortomer who went by Hampton in the census. I don't know who Mortomers wife was, but she must of died between 1847 and 1850. There last son, Uriah, was born in 1847, and she was not with them in the 1850 census in Ohio. I cannot find Jesse Sr. Lumm after 1840, but I suspect he died in Beaver Co. between 1840-1850. He was over 70 in the 1840 census. I would appreciate any help with finding Mortomer's wife name and Jesse death date.
