Boies, Sr.. Genealogy of the Boies Family of Pennsylvania and adjoining counties of Eastern Ohio. 1300 Higiscus, McAllen, TX 78501 512-682-0956. Anna Boies is not included in my 682 page book on the Quaker Irish Boyces descended from Richard Boyes (1600's) Co. Antrim, Ireland. Her grandfather - David - may be from that family - but no proof. Switch the "i" with "y" which was frequently done. However Anna is mentioned in a rather haphazard rendition entitled " Genealogy of the Boies Family of Pennsylvania and adjoining counties in Eastern Ohio." compiled by Robert E. Boies, Sr. of McAllen, Texas in 1986. It is not indexed. A copy was in the Citizen's Library in Washington, Pa. and probably in Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh. He says that Anna Boies b. 4 April 1811 was the sixth of 12 children of John (b. in Ireland) and Nancy ______ b. 1779 in Maryland. John was the second oldest and one of 10 children of David Boies and ________ Forsyth Boies the daughter of John. Their first five children were born in Ireland.
