    3. JoAnn, Not to start a war but when Allegheny County was formed in 1788 there were 7 townships to wit: Moon, St Clair, Mifflin, Elizabeth, Versailles Plum, and Pitt. Pitt township included Pittsburgh and out to Plum and contained everything west of the Allegheny and north of the Ohio. Pine and Deer weren't formed out of Pitt until 1796. See Warner's "History of Allegheny County" for a good time line of the various 131 communities being formed in Allegheny County. Mac
