    3. Thanks. The 1780 map of Penna. counties: http://users.penn.com/~tshu/pa1780.html Makes it appear that Beaver County never was considered part of Westmoreland County. Of course it's still possible that my ancestor was confused and just figured that anything west of Harrisburg was Westmoreland County. Quite a few of my ancestors seem to have been "confused."
